Tarotcast for the Week of November 4, 2018

Happy Birthday Scorpio.  The above is what I consider the cutest snake in the world; however it is venomous.  It is the tree dwelling bush viper found only in ancient rain forest of sub-Saharan Africa.

Scorpio is represented by a scorpion, eagle and/or phoenix, the only sign given multiple forms.  I sort of get the Scorpion part because of the constellation, but the personality of Scorpio and scorpions never really jived.  Scorpions are desert dwellers; Scorpio is a water sign.  Scorpions’ sting can cause death but don’t really portray Scorpios’ sexy and fun side. The sign of Scorpio also rules the underworld and transformation; though this is somewhat cover by the phoenix but it just doesn’t say scorpion. Scorpio is more than just the scorpion hence people attaching more animals real and imagined.

An animal that does jive better with Scorpio’s domains and personalities are snakes. Snakes can live in a variety of environments but they definitely can do water. ie: sea snakes, water moccasins, pythons etc… This portrays how Scorpios can fit in almost everywhere.  Snakes can be harbingers of death. However unlike scorpions, snakes are super sexy especially when they move. They also do the transformation and growth every time a snake sheds their skin.  Even if you look at the constellation you could easily see a snake instead of a scorpion. So what do you say Scorpios let’s change your animal to the snake. An animal that is as diverse as your own personality.

To help convince everyone I’m highlighting the adorable trend of Snakes in Hats which also proves my point how bad ass, funny and cute snakes like Scorpios can be all at the same time.

Snakes in hatsLast week, the High Priestess challenged you to go within, find your center and then watch cycles.  This week the Knight of Pentacles has you take what you learned last week and turn outward applying it to what you are doing in the world.  This is a week were being practical is paramount.

Taurus – King of Pentacles

Snakes in hatsThe King of Pentacles is the doer and builder of the lower arcane.  Take that energy he brings to you expanding on work, projects and anything that has to do with the material plane.  Your only challenge is not to “bulldoze” anything into existence.  So be careful how and what you are treading on to get to get things done.

Gemini – Ten of Cups

Snakes in hatsThe Ten of Cups brings with it rainbows and good tidings.  This is a feel good week.  Your only challenge is making sure that you take the time to do some feel good things. Sometimes you have to pull off the road to find your pot of gold.

Cancer – Queen of Pentacles

Snakes in hatsThe Queen of Pentacles is the lady of luxury and enjoying the material plane.  So get out your cozy slippers, eat yummy things, and pamper yourself.  Self care is as important this week as getting things done.

Leo – King of Swords

Snakes in hatsLast week, the Chariot advised you to get out of the house and obtain a change of scenery and hopefully you did because this week is back to business.  The King of Swords is the logician and master mediator.  You are going to need your wits and intellect this week. He advises incorporating the long view with all your decisions.

Virgo – Seven of Pentacles

Snakes in hatsThe last three weeks the themes were building, growing, balancing and simplifying with Magician, Sun and Justice.  The Seven of Pentacles advises you to take this week to synthesize. This card also means harvesting, so see what you can cull from the work you have done in October. It will be the fodder for what you have to do this winter.

Libra – Four of Swords

Snakes in hatsThe Four of Swords is the card of rest. This card foretells that this week can be a bit stressful and the best thing to do is make sure you get your 8 hours sleep, eat well, and nap when necessary. This is the card of colds so wash your hands.

Scorpio – Page of Cups

Snakes in hatsThe Page of Cups is the card of innocence and pure joy.  This card comes when you need a fresh perspective on aspects of your life. What a great card to get for your birth month.  Try to experience joy like a kid at their birthday party where balloons, cake and playing games with your friends makes your day.

Sagittarius – Eight of Cups

Snakes in hatsLast week Death and Eight of Swords, advised you when confronted with a limitation or boundary or what seemly is a road block, take what looks like the darker and unfamiliar path.  It is the places that are dark and unknown that hold the secrets of fertilization and growth.  This theme continues with the Eight of Cups.  This card wants you to dive even deeper into your inquires, so you can walk away from the known to discover the new and unknown.

Capricorn – Eight of Pentacles

Snakes in hatsLast week, the World wanted you to finish off projects and start the investigation of new opportunities.  Where last week didn’t want you to commit the Eight of Pentacles does.  This card wants you picking projects that you want to see happening in the New Year. It’s not so much starting the projects but sharpening the skills you will need to do them.

Aquarius – Queen of Wands

Snakes in hatsThe Queen of Wands is the gardener of the deck.  She plants seeds, weeds and tends the projects in her garden. This week is about just that:  plan your garden with the seeds you want to plant, water and tend the projects that are already in progress that you want to grow, and weed out the ones that aren’t working.  The big challenge is putting your energy only in the things that will grow and the timing of that growth.  As they say to everything there is a season.

Pisces – Ten of Wands

Snakes in hatsThe Ten of Wands comes up when you are weighed down with what you have loaded into your proverbial backpack. You are doing, feeling and thinking too much.  This card advises you to just put down at the very least two of the items on your list. Don’t worry they will be there for you to pick up next week. Also for your own good put down that backpack you can go longer and farther if you take breaks.

May light be on you, around you, and within you,

Nina
