Artcast for May 24 – June 6, 2026

Wooing of Etain, Amelia Dennigan

Hi All,

The artist this week is Amelia Dennigan, @acru_, a fine art thread painter. Dennigan’s “work blurs the lines between textile, painting, and emotional memory. Guided by an intuitive process and a reverence for craft, she transforms thread into gesture—capturing softness, stillness, and shadow with painterly precision. Rooted in ritual and rich in texture, her pieces evoke a quiet kind of intimacy, inviting viewers to slow down, feel, and see differently. Through both her fine art practice and her decor atelier, ACRU, Dennigan creates tactile worlds where art is not only seen but deeply lived.”

Your Pondering:

In an interview Dennigan says: “I’m coming to think that being self-taught is one of the stronger aspects of my work. For a long time, I felt it was a mark against me, but now I think it has allowed me to carve out this weird niche that I may otherwise have never discovered.”  Is there a thought or judgement of yourself you once thought of as a hindrance, that is now an asset?

**Reading from The Ethereal Tarot

Aries
Game Room, Amelia Dennigan

Knight of Wands – The Muse of Adventure is your guide for the coming weeks.  She would like you to go on a quest to engage your creative side.  The challenge with this quest is the goal must be a larger more general idea like searching for “things that make me happy” or the color yellow.   Or you can have no goal but just to be thoroughly present in exploration and experience.

Taurus
Cosmic Geranium, Amelia Dennigan

Ace of Swords – All aces signify a new beginning, and the ace of swords suggests a new cycle of thought, ideas, dreams and intellect. It is a time to open your mind, see things from a different perspective and/or perceive new opportunities.

Gemini
Divine Loss, Amelia Dennigan

The Hanged One – The Muse of Pause has been sent as a guide for the coming two weeks to help you gain some in-sight.  Whether the circumstance you are in is stagnating, you are feeling vegetative, or overwhelmed, this muse reminds you that the pause can be very useful.   If it is the first two then this time has been granted to you, use it wisely as a breather, gain a new perspective or reconnect with lost ideas.  If it is the latter, then it is up to you to find space to pause in all the action so you can process.

Cancerian
Amelia Dennigan
Abundance, Amelia Dennigan

Nine of Pentacles – The Muse of Luxury is your companion for the coming weeks.  You have worked hard to get where you are at, and it is time to see and partake in how abundant your world is.  However, this muse also warns to investigate how you may be over investing.  Examples are possibly you are giving too much in your job or over investing in some aspect or person in your life that takes more resources or energy then it gives.   This energy is about taking advantage and pleasure of your means without living or working above it.

Leo
Poisoned Chalice, Amelia Dennigan

Ten of Wands – The Muse of Burdens comes when you have too much on your plate and it is affecting your progress.  Now some of these duties you need to do, but the way you are going about it is not efficient or through.  This muse suggests writing a list of all the things you need to do, prioritizing them and making an approximate time they can be done in.  Now cross off the last two on the list; they are on hold for two weeks.  Then take the top two and work on them to completion, then the next two, and so on.  You cannot add to the list unless it is urgent but then you must take off another task on the bottom.  You may find by the end of the two weeks the urgency of the bottom tasks have been resolved.

Virgo
Two Brothers, Amelia Dennigan

Justice – The Muse of Accountability is your guide through the challenges in the coming weeks.  One aspect is your truth will be challenge.  Now the key is keeping an open mind and seeing the other side’s perspective.  You don’t have to agree but understanding is important to rebalancing the situation.  The other aspect that you can control is that you are accountable for your actions and words. If you can’t give it 100% then don’t say you can and be truthful with what you can do.

Libra
Amelia Dennigan
Wasted Bounty, Amelia Dennigan

Seven of Cups – The Muse of Dreams will be your partner for the coming weeks.  She usually shows up for one or two reasons.  First, you may not be dreaming big enough.  You are keeping yourself small instead of letting your creativity and imagination expand your horizons. If this is it then do “what if” scenarios where there are no restrictions.  The other possibility is that you are not actively pursuing your dreams.  So, take this time to evaluate why.  With either scenario, this is not about magical wish granting but being open to possibilities.

Scorpio
Devotion, Amelia Dennigan

Queen of Wands – The Muse of the Wild is summoning you in the coming weeks to come out and play.  She would like you to tune into your passion and ignite it.  If stuck, you can kindle this fire by going out dancing, howling at the moon, jumping on trampolines, climbing rocks, writing in rhyme or painting in larger swaths of color.

Sagittarius
Nature Morte, Amelia Dennigan

Fool – The Muse of Fresh Starts is heralding new beginnings are on the horizon.  The challenge for you is to be okay with the unknown.  She is having you practice optimism, confidence and hope while moving forward.  The key is trusting that every step you take is full of potential.  And you can cash in on this if you are sure-footed and present in each step.

Capricorn
Amelia Dennigan
Games Room, Amelia Dennigan

Page of Wands – The Muse of Art is your companion for the coming two weeks.  She comes when you need to work with your creativity in a more intimate but freer setting.  So deep dives into creativity without boundaries, expectations or goals.  This is about finding and reigniting the joy of immersing yourself in your imagination. If blocked this muse suggests experiencing something outside of your usual genres like delving into all the recipes around a certain food item or listening to different music.  The key is experiencing and experimenting with the new without expectation.

Aquarius
Catalyst, Amelia Dennigan

Ace of Pentacles – All aces signify a new beginning, and the ace of pentacles represent a beginning on the material plane.  This is perfect timing for the seeds of opportunity to be planted; however, the challenge is it also needs to be lovingly tended to for the coming weeks.   Some examples are applying for a new job, investing, planning a trip, starting an exercise program, starting a garden or beginning a new venture. However, if you don’t have the bandwidth to nurture these seeds, then you can randomly throw out ideas to the wind and see what grows.

Pisces
Louis, Amelia Dennigan

Eight of Pentacles – The Muse of Mastery comes when you need to immerse yourself in the tasks at hand. This muse reminds you that you have the skills, but you still need to strive for excellence while preparing for the worst and pivoting to accommodate your surroundings.  If needed, superhero pose to boast your self-confidence.  You got this!

Artcast for April 26 – May 9, 2026

La Grande Vallee IX, Joan Mitchell

The artist this week is Joan Mitchell.  Mitchell worked with oil, pastels and printmaking.  She is known as one of the most significant post-war abstract artists.  She used abstraction to help the viewer feel a subject without needing to know what the subject was.  She once said, “I paint from remembered landscapes that I carry with me—and remembered feelings of them, which of course become transformed. I could certainly never mirror nature. I would like more to paint what it leaves me with.”

Your Pondering: This is one of the beautiful things of abstraction is the artist trying to convey an essence and a window into how that artist feels.  By doing so it entices us to expand our mind and heart. Look around you and try to explain what is going on using only the aspects of color, energy and how it makes you feel to get a glimpse into the abstract.

Solar System highlights for the next two weeks

We have a Full Moon in Scorpio on May 1st.  Be careful not to be too emo.

Uranus is now in Gemini until 2032 – the planet of revolution has us working on evolving how we communicate.   On a more personal level, look at your natal chart to see what house Gemini resides in and if you have any planets that it will be working with, trying to revolutionize those areas.

Aries

Emperor – What a lovely energy to start your birth year.  The Muse of Building is here to help you take a project to the next level.  However, this energy should not be just about personal glory but also benefit others.  The broader your goals reach, the easier the path becomes to your own destiny. Motto: People with authority and/or knowledge come to aid my quest.

Taurus
Joan Mitchell
Evenings on 73rd Street, Joan Mitchell

Eight of Fire – The Muse of Swift Change is your companion for the coming weeks.  Often this is aided by messages or intel.  The challenge is sifting through all the incoming energies.  She suggests picking a topic for the next 2 weeks or each day and looking for signs, messages, clues just around those topics.   Motto: Momentum is building to power this transformation/creation.

Gemini
Joan Mitchell

Page of Water – The Muse of Play comes when you are taking life a too seriously.  Yes, the world is a bit much these day, but the muses still suggest for your mental health, play is now doubly important. Remember play is doing things that you enjoy without a goal.  This can be playing in your garden, dancing, doing silly walks, finger painting, etc… And if you truly have forgotten how to play find someone under the age of five to help you remember.   Motto: I am open to play.

Cancerian
Joan Mitchell

Ten of Water – The Muse of Serenity is your companion for the coming weeks.  This muse helps you fully be in the moments of peacefulness.  Yes, this world is a bit much right now, so these moments are hard earned.  But she reminds you that the natural world helps you take those moments.  So, stop and smell the flowers, listen to bird songs, take a moment when you hear or experience laughter, be present when you are hugged or your pet lays down next to you. Soak in these momentary delights and savor them so you can bring them up for the weeks ahead.  Motto: Well-being is my natural state.

Leo
Joan Mitchell

Eight of Water – The Muse of Authenticity is your companion for the coming weeks, for this could be a turning point for you to take a more authentic path.  She reminds you that you do not have to give up on your dreams but there are aspects of how you see them that you need to let go of.  She asks what do you truly love to do?  And then look at what other emotions you have glued to them that have taken away that true love’s joy.  There are alternative paths to doing what you love and especially with Uranus, moving into Gemini.  It is time to revolutionize how things are done.  Motto: I will let go with ease what is in my heart that no longer serves me.

Virgo
Blue Tree, Joan Mitchell

High Priestess – You will need to use your intuition these days ahead, so the Muse of Perception will be your guide.  The challenge with this muse is that she hides messages in synchronicities and metaphors.  So, antenna up.  If you get a feeling to not walk down the right side of the street, switch sides.  It may be avoiding a hazard, but most likely you will find a message or a dollar bill on the ground.  Or say you keep seeing a repeating digit. Ask a question out to the Universe and you will find your answer or clues with the next pop-up of that digit.  Motto: I have access to higher wisdom when I tune in and trust the vibe.

Libra
Heel Sit Stay, Joan Mitchell

Temptation – The Muse of Lure is your companion for the coming weeks.  Her ultimate goal is to strengthen your resolve, but she does it by laying charms and dalliances in your path. If you find yourself partaking in these devilish delights, part of this exercise is to truly decide if your goal is worth the struggle.  Or you resist and reassert your resolve. She is here to remind you to be clearer of what choices you are making and why.  Motto: I know what I want and I will go after it.

Scorpio
Sunflower, Joan Mitchell

Sun– The Muse of Abundance is your helper for the coming weeks.  She reminds you that what you focus on is the thing that grows, good or bad.  So, be more purposeful on how you shine and what you shine on. For how you shine: You can be laser focused but only for a set time.  Or you can shine with a more ambient light that can last for hours.   For what you shine on she reminds you to ask yourself: Does my focus nourish or help me and/or others grow?  Motto: This is a time of plenty.

Sagittarius
Backyards, Joan Mitchell

Queen of Fire – The Muse of Artists comes when you need inspiration to be more creative.  She reminds you that anything can be art, even living.  Art is expression of your soul into the material world.  So how you get dressed can be an art, how you compliment someone can be an art, and of course participating in any of the art modes.  The challenge is finding the time to dedicate to your soul, for it is ultimately the reason for picking the form that you did.  Motto: “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life” (Pablo Picasso).

Capricorn
Faded Air, Joan Mitchell

King of Fire – The Muse of Modeling is your co-pilot for the coming weeks.  You are an amazing unique human with superpowers.  This muse would like you to spend these coming weeks shaking out your cape and demonstrating what it is that makes you so spectacular.  The challenge of course is being reflective on what you’re good at and then do just that.  The key is trying not to be more then you already are.  Motto: When I align with my superpower I can help and inspire others.

Aquarius
Joan Mitchell
Cross Section of a Bridge, Joan Mitchell

Four of Earth – The Muse of Stability comes when you need to focus on material matters.  She asks what do you need to feel stable on the material plane?  So, examples are: think about what does your body need to feel stable? What do your finances need to be to feel safe? Does something need to be fixed in your dwelling?  This muse also advises acting on the small doable stuff and leaving any big aspects to later in the month.  Motto: What I have rests on a solid foundation so there is no need to fear.

Pisces
Joan Mitchell

Eight of Earth – The Muse of Mastery comes when you need to tweak your skill set.  You have a solid foundation and are good at what you do but there are a few small tweaks that will make you more efficient.  This muse asks you to develop a deeper understanding of what you know and then apply them in new ways.  Maybe it is how you schedule your day?  Or to only look at emails at certain times instead of whenever a notification pops up.  Or maybe you need to colorize your tasks according to priority.  What structure or piece of knowledge do you need to be more efficient? Motto: Even masters of their craft have more to learn.

Artcast for March 15-28, 2026

Henriëtte Ronner-Knip
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip

Hi All,

The artist this week is Henriëtte Ronner-Knip.  She is a painter of landscapes and animals, but she had a fondness and a unique understanding of cats.  Ronner-Knip working from live observation she would first sketch them then creating papier-mâché model of her subjects to glean their physiques and personalities. Then she used these sculptures as models in various settings. Though her subjects may seem common her techniques is far from it.  Her work is usually done with oil paints on wood  and is quite small  (the above painting is approximately 13x18inches) which makes her brushstrokes and use of shadow and light even more exquisite.

Ponderings:  I have had a cat most of life.  And I am  unbelievable grateful for their company.  What has been in your life as a constant?

This is our lovebug Neko-san who has just spent his first year with us.

And this is our scar-dee cat Smoochie.  When he is feeling comfortable he lays in this Sphinx position.

Solar System highlights for the next two weeks

We have a New Moon in Pisces on March 18th – play in dreamland and make wishes.

Retrograde Mercury is still with us until March 20th. Recharge, reflect and redo.  Mercury is in Pisces until April 14th.  This lesson/exploration is around communicating our fantasies and dreams, non-linear thinking and a heightening of our Spidey sense.   The challenge is staying grounded when collecting information and giving it out.  Miscommunication is at its height during this time, so double check the “facts”.

Aries
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip

Orphaned – The next two weeks the muses are asking you:  Where do you fit in?  As you begin your new birth-year, two aspects are important to establish: community and being your authentic self.  Maybe you have been “separate from” instead of “part of”.  Or maybe you no longer identify with some of the people you hang out with or your job/project.  And part of this issue is you are not accepting and being your true to the you that is now.  This year is not about compromising to fit in or just excelling but to shine and find people who contribute to that illumination.

Taurus
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip

The Fates – In the next two weeks ask the universe “for the serenity to accept the things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can and the wisdom to know the difference.”  The collective is going through an evolution and many of those conditions you have no control over.  The muses are not asking you to abandon tasks at hand, but they remind you hope prepares you for a brighter future, possibly more than worrying would. As the muse Mel Brooks wrote “Hope for the Best Expect the Worst”.

Gemini
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip

Clean it up – Use these next two weeks to clean up and organize.  This can be spring cleaning, airing out your house, clearing out your inbox, tackling your emotional baggage, writing to do lists… The muse would like you to make space so that when abundance and newness show up you have room for them.

Cancerian
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip

Unfinished Symphony – Spending the coming weeks tying up lose ends and/or bring a project off the back burner.  There is no need to rush or feel a sense of “do or die” but there is energy to utilize in these coming weeks to clean, tidy and move projects along.  For even, stumbling forward gives you information to continue the momentum and best case a resolution or two.

Leo
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip

Regeneration – A rebirth is availing itself to you now.  Whatever you have perceived as a loss is now being replaced by something better and more powerful growing in its place.  This is not a time to dwell with what was, but for what will be.  Your future is as bright as you imagine it to be.

Virgo
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip
Henriëtte Ronner-Knip

Never-ending story – In the coming weeks you will hear an old story whose refrain of loss, fear, self-loathing, and all other manners of suffering will resurface.  The muses want you to face it, love it, know it is a part of you that in the past was needed.  It protected you but now it keeps you from the present stronger and wiser self.  You no longer need to be the lead in this story, for it is now just a tale with an ending.

Libra
Henriette Ronner Knip

Milk and Honey – The coming weeks will have beautiful, delectable, sweet moments to savor and delight in. These precious amuse-bouchées come to stimulate your appetite for life.  They come easiest and most abundantly when you are being authentic and not in a state of wanting but in receiving.  Your motto:  “Wear the world as a loose garment, which touches us in a few places and there lightly.” – St. Francis of Assisi

Scorpio
Henriette Ronner Knip

Flexible – The muse would like you to deal with these coming weeks like a tree – firmly rooted but with branches that bend in the breeze.  By confidently grounding yourself in who you are and what you stand for, you can be more open-minded and curious in who and what is around you.  And possibly be open for a spur of the moment invitation or out-of-the-box solution.

Sagittarius
Henriette Ronner Knip

Here and Now – The muses for the coming two weeks would like you to stay in the present.  You have exactly what is needed to handle today.  And thus, you can let go of the need to look into the future or reflect on the past.  By staying present you get more done and begin to claim the wealth of the ship in the harbor instead of the one out at sea.

Capricorn
Henriette Ronner Knip

Observer – For the coming weeks the energy is around stepping back and being the observer.  By gaining a more neutral perspective you can better understand the conditions, people, culture and environment you are dealing with.   And then you can act accordingly to nudge your goals into more advantageous directions.

Aquarius
Henriette Ronner Knip

Time to Go – This is a time when transitions are abundant in the world.  However, the muses would like you to take advantage of these coming weeks more like the prequel to that change.  They recommend taking stock of what you have since the beginning of the year and doing a bit more recouping and restocking before heading out again.

Pisces
Henriette Ronner Knip

New Life – What a lovely energy for the beginning of your new birth year.  This energy is spring-like, bursting with energy, awakenings and joy.  The muses suggest using this energy towards inspiration and making dreams into reality.  Allow your heart to be filled with the thought “what if everything worked out for my best” and then work with the abundance you have a hand to seed the bounty of what is to come.

Tarot and Artcast for December 2025

Amit Eshel Artic Wolves

Hi All,

Due to my surgery and my annual soul retreat during Winter Solstice to the New Year, this is the last forecast until the first week in January.  This cast I am asking the muses to give you a word or saying to ponder on the lessons, challenges and warnings to wrap up 2025 and begin 2026.

Also, I just want to express how grateful I am for you all walking with me through my exploration of art and tarot.  I wish you all great joy and happiness as we finish off 2025 and begin our journey into 2026.  See you in January 2026.

The art the cast is from winners of the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photography competition.

Solar System highlights

Mercury is back in Sagittarius until the end of the year – chatty Cathy is in the house.  Mars also moves into Capricorn on December 15th – great to tie up loose ends and plan for new beginnings. Venus is in Sagittarius until December 24th – wanting us to be curious and then moves into Capricorn where we focus on making beauty more tangible in our lives.

Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Cancer until June 2026.  This placement is exalted, because Cancer boosts Jupiter’s positive aspects and vice versa.  Jupiter creates more ease in our emotional growth, intuition, feeling nurtured as well as giving it.  However, the two-fold challenge is that growth needs time to cultivate and may bring growing pains.  So be kind and patient with others and yourself as we grow into our abundance.

Lastly, Saturn is back in Piscis until February of 2026.  So, we are back to our structures having trouble being…well… structured.  And I am sending out extra feel-good vibes for you all with a Saturn in Aries or Pisces and are dealing with this erratic Saturn return.

Tarot and Artcast for Nov 2 -15

Hi All,

So, the beginning of the tarotcast will be a bit different – some news and changes. First, I am going to have surgery mid-November and I am not sure how the tarotcast is going to fit in.  But I will try to get another 1 or 2 in before Winter Solstice.

Second, ten years ago, I started doing this tarotcast blog.  At first it was just each sign’s tarot forecast for the week.  I have always believed that science and art are two arms that help us figure out our place in the universe.   And if I found something interesting, I would write about that.   But then the cast quickly morphed into smatterings of science and a larger focus on art by fringe groups not equally represented in the Big A art scene.

The other aspect of doing this was my pondering: is casting tarot statistically significant? Statistically significant means a result is not likely to have occurred by random chance alone; it suggests a real underlying effect or difference, i.e. can woo be tracked.  So, I kept excel sheets collecting data points from the tarotcast’s cards that each sign got throughout the ten years.

Each year I looked at the data in two ways, how many times each card was pulled (for anomalies) and what the actual cards were for each sign (trends).  You can see the individual years in review for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.

Over the course of ten years, I have pulled the cards over 6,000 times, putting the drawn card back into the mix after each pull for a zodiac sign. And after looking at the data, I feel like pulling the cards isn’t a random act.   Let me just say, what I did may not be fool-proof and some statisticians would say I would need way more data points or possible because my shuffling wasn’t random enough, etc.…, but that aside I still find the this process interesting.  And now to look at the data for the past 10 years.

The Data

There are 78 cards in a tarot deck.  The average amount of times I pulled a card in this 10 year period was 70, the median was 69 and the standard deviation was 10.  So, the 78 card possibilities fall within of the average + or – deviation.  However, there were 24 anomalies, that would be individual tarot cards pulled less than 60 or above 80 pulls.

The 3 highest cards pulled above the average are: Eight of Wands – 99 times, Ace of Swords – 97 times, Fool- 90 times.  The 3 lowest are:  Wheel – 48 times, 6 of cups- 51 times, nine of cups- 52 times. I find it interesting that the 2 higher arcane cards are The Fool- the journey, foolishness and wisdom and the Wheel – chance.  And the most pulled lower arcane cards are 8 of wands – information, and Ace of Swords- new ways to think.  The lowest being 6 of cups – past/children and 9 of cups – satisfaction/nonsatisfaction.

So, with that – take what works for you and leave the rest behind.

*The art is from some of my favorite artists/pieces throughout the 10 years.

My pondering

Now that I have completed my challenge I am rethinking how I want to go forward with this tarotcast as of 2026.  And I would love your input to help me figure out what is next.  I still love finding artists, pondering and pulling cards. But I am iffy about the solar system part.  I am not sure which social media site to continue with.  Or the frequency/maybe break it up or make it shorter and more frequent….  And most importantly I want to expand what I read with (non-standard tarot, oracle cards and playing around with new types of divination tools) to keep things fresh and help with my exploration of my 108 project.  So please write me back if you have input.  ……….Or not and enjoy the ride ; ).

Solar System highlights

Mercury is in Sagittarius – chatty Cathy is in the house.  Mars also moves into Sagittarius November 5th until December 15th – watch itchy feet syndrome. Venus is in Scorpio until November 30th – boom chicka boom boom.

Lastly, Saturn is back in Pisces until February of 2026.  So, we are back to our structures having trouble being…well… structured.  And I am sending out extra feel-good vibes for you all with a Saturn in Aries or Pisces and are dealing with this erratic Saturn return.

The key is seeing what isn’t working, creating and then implementing a plan to create new structures and resources to construct a better building.

Tarot and Art-cast for July 6-19, 2025

Kawase Hasui
Kawase Hasui

The artist highlighted is Kawase Hasui.  Kawase was famous for his landscape paintings and prints.  He was part of the Shin-hanga (new prints) art movement in early 20th century Japan. Shin-hanga artists incorporated the impression of light and the expression of individual moods. Kawase’s sunset landscapes and his choice of everyday scenes instead of famous landmarks show how he is capturing a mood more then highlighting the subject.  He moved away from ukiyo-e traditions of emulating hand-drawn brushstrokes, seeking instead to “create works replete with creativity and rich with artistic quality, by avoiding enslavement to hand-drawn painting or old models”

Your pondering: Two ponderings around this art.  Is your creativity or work stunted by an established norm?  How can you change or focus on how your environment influences your mood?

Solar System highlights

We start the week with the moon in Sagittarius – explore.  On Wednesday the moon moves into Capricorn – great for business or for working through projects.  On Saturday the moon is in Aquarius – spend some time pondering.  It moves into Pisces on Monday July 14th – daydreams and wishes are on the agenda.  Then Wednesday July 16th the moon is in Aries – now that you have had some time to think put things into action.  On Friday July 18th it is in Taurus – great for hanging with family and friends.

Mercury is in Leo.  Giving us an 11-week crash course in expressing ourselves with the caveat that we don’t step on other’s shine while we spread our own light.  Venus moves into Gemini work on your sweet talk.   Mars is Libra – work on collaborating and cooperating.

Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Cancer until June 2026.  This placement is exalted, because Cancer boosts Jupiter’s positive aspects.  While Jupiter creates more ease in our emotional growth, intuition, feeling nurtured as well as giving it.  However, the two-fold challenge during this time is that growth needs time to cultivate and sometimes this growth brings growing pains.  So be kind and patient with others and yourself as we grow into our abundance.   Saturn is in Aries until September 1st for its first round of pumping up energy levels. This aspect is about calibrating how you burn your “candle”, so that you don’t burn out while everything is on the move around us.

And we have another shift in the social planets. Uranus is dipping its toe into Gemini until November 7th.  Uranus is the planet of revolution, freedom and innovation and Gemini is all things around the mind, information, and communication. The last time it was in this sign democracy was being reborn.  It will return to Taurus, which holds back Uranus tendance for uprisings until April 2026, so the old guard still has the reins.  But we get a taste of the what that revolution needs to stand for in the coming months.

Aries

*Three of Air – The Muse of Emotional Healing comes when you need to spend the next two weeks focusing on healing old wounds. Often present situations trigger an old wound that you thought was healed.  The key is doing a deeper dive into where this scar originated.  She advises you to keep picking at it until you find it source and heal it from the past forward.

Taurus

*Chariot – The Muse of Self-Motivation comes when you need to stop and recheck if the road you are on is taking you to your desired destination.  This muse advises to spend these next two weeks revising your path and securing the resources you will need to move forward.  And then when you are reoriented begin your journey again.

Gemini
Kawase Hasui

*Fool – Another big energy period for you. The last two weeks the Muse of Metamorphose ask you to look around and see what needs to evolve to the next level and transforming it into its higher form.  Now the Muse of Leaps would like you to make a blind or semi-blind leap of faith to further this evolution.  This can look like going out on a date, a new friend excursion, trying a new cuisine or art form or applying for a new job.  Tomorrow has the potential to hold a variety of “fill in the blanks”.  This muse asks, what will you write in them?

Cancerian
Kawase Hasui

Ace of Earth – This is a lovely energy for your coming birth year.  All aces signify new beginnings, and the Ace of Earth signifies new beginnings on the material plane.  This is a great wishing card for manifesting.  The muses recommend a fun exercise of planting actually seeds or plants with an intention imbued in it. You can write your wish on paper and put it in the dirt with the seed/plant.  Or if you are not sure what to wish for, ask the Universe for blessings and throw the seeds into the wind.  PS. Happy Birthday.

Leo
Kawase Hasui

*Death – Your third big energy.  So, the muses made you make sure you have a road map for the coming year and then had you unload something that you didn’t want to carry into your new year.  Now the Muse of Stillness is here for the last two weeks of your old birth-year to have you stop and contemplate.  This isn’t so much about rest, though it is a part of this energy, but it is about sitting still and listening to your inner voice.  To still your mind, get bored, stop being on the wheel and see what comes up for you.  This is not a time to judge anything but to let things rise from the void. The goal is to metaphorically let the cream rise to the top, and to do so you need to be still.

Virgo
Kawase Hasui

*Wheel – The next two weeks the Muse of Fortune would like you to take chances.  She reminds you that if you don’t spin the proverbial wheel, you never have the chance of winning.  For with this mercurial energy, you can win big right away, it can take a meandering path to get to you, or you cannot win.  (This is different than losing because you just didn’t get a prize, but you didn’t lose anything.)  And an interesting result with this exercise of trying is it always leads you to positive returns.

Libra
Kawase Hasui
Kawase Hasui

Nine of Air – The Muse of Worrying comes when you are fretting over something you have no control over.  Your thoughts are a whirlwind of apprehension and doubt.  The muse suggests this exercise when your thoughts begin taking over.  1) Write them all down. 2) Cross off the ones you have no control over their outcome.  3) Prioritize the rest.  Also, she reminds you not to chastise your mind for worrying.  Worries are helpful by preparing us for the future; however, once you have prepared for what you can accomplish that is all any human can do.

Scorpio
Kawase Hasui

Heart of Air – The Muse of Investigation comes when there is information that needs to be ferreted out. In most scenarios people are not trying to hide something or thwart you. They also may not have all the pieces to the puzzle or need help digging for the truth.  This is also true when those around you generalize their answer to your “how are you?”  They may need gentle coaxing to spill their proverbial beans.

Sagittarius
Kawase Hasui

*Emperor – The Muse of Building is here to help you build upon something that is already in progress or that you have put on the back burner for too long. This muse heralds this is the right time to invest in yourself and your projects.  This can be as simple as knocking of some of your “honey-to-do lists” or as complex as pulling down that idea of starting your own business and begin.  Now is the time to make things happen.

Capricorn
Kawase Hasui

Spirit of Fire – The Muse of Purpose asks you to spend these next two weeks pondering not only what do you want to create but why does it burn inside of you to do so.  She advises spending time in museums, music halls, art galleries, or nature.  To quiet your mind by observing what other masters of creativity and beauty inspire in you.   And thus, connecting you to your own creative fire.

Aquarius

Kawase HasuiSeven of Fire – The Muse of Standing your Ground comes when either you need to strengthen your boundaries or reevaluate them.  The latter is harder because maybe you are too dogmatic for the situation, compromising too much or giving up because you can’t see a solution.  For any of these, this muse suggest that you engage a friend or supporter for help with either redrawing your boundaries, seeing your needs and/or just having another person by your side.

Pisces
Kawase Hasui

Two of Fire – The Muse of Imagining comes when you need to do some planning and envisioning of your future.  You can do this with a vision board or just write down a futuristic July 1st, 2027, journal entry that sums up what you have accomplished and experienced.    She does advise that you get as detailed as possible as well as envisioning general feelings that your future self will be feeling.  By doing both you give the universe some concrete things to work on with you, as well as, giving the universe room to create what you can’t imagine for yourself.

Tarot and Art-cast for Jan 19 – Feb 1, 2025

Bernice Bing
Burney, Falls, Bernice Bing

The artist highlighted this tarotart-cast is Bernice Bing. Bing’s medium was paint and her mode was color and tone.  Her paintings are big and bold. The viewer can see her fascination of the duality of light and dark, whether that was her landscape paintings or her later explorations of the unconscious world, Zen Buddhism and Chinese calligraphy. Abstraction as a practice gave her the ability to investigate her faceted self.  Abstract art emerged primarily because artists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries wanted to break away from the traditional focus on realistically depicting the physical world, instead seeking to express emotions and ideas through color, line, and form, rather than recognizable imagery, leading to a movement that emphasized the inner experience and artistic interpretation over strict representation of reality.

Society and its constructs are often set in place to give us meaning and a sense of community.  It is very human characteristic to want to define, categorize, create structures to explain and predict outcomes.  But it also can constrain growth.  This is the beauty of abstraction when we or aspects don’t fit into just one box we can explore without constraints.

Your pondering: Bing once said about doing art. “It’s like the highest form of art becomes a vehicle, like a mantra.” What is your mantra this year? Can you apply it to take an action to the highest level? Can your action/mantra both hold structure and allow growth?

*to those new subscribers and a reminder – pondering is just a place to flex your critical thinking muscle.  You don’t have to find the answer – there can be right or wrong.  It is just a place to reflect.

Solar System highlights

We begin with the Moon in Libra – relationships are on the forefront.  On Wednesday it moves into Scorpio – time to let something go.   Then on Friday it moves into Sagittarius – spend the weekend exploring.  On Monday the 27th it moves into Capricorn – focus on work. Then on Wednesday the 29th the moon moves into Aquarius – work on innovating something to the next level.  And lastly for the weekend the lunation moves into Pisces – daydreaming and intuition is key.

Mercury is still in Capricorn until January 26th, having us working on being efficient and succent with our conversation.  Though be careful about coming off as too bossy or harsh.   Motto: “I know things, but I don’t know everything.” The it moves into Aquarius.  Mercury is now about socializing and innovating the way we communicate.  Mars is retrograde again in Cancer until February 23rd, 2025. So once again action moves sideways not in a straight line.   But this is our second opportunity to find new and better avenues then the obvious or easiest ones.

Venus is now in Pisces until Feb 3rd.  This aspect is lovely – a dreamy haze.  Though be careful with this stop and go energy of Mars that you don’t just daydream the month away.  There still is action needed but it is a meandering organic evolution of your concepts of beauty and harmony. And Venus will retrograde back into Pisces in the spring.  So don’t stress, once things get moving you will have a second chance to come back to this growth.

Our longer aspects: Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Gemini until June of 2025.   This placement is here to help us work with opportunities to grow and succeed through intellectual, verbal, and written pursuits.  However, we must also watch its challenging aspects: not following through, gossip, too much information and fickleness.   Saturn is in Pisces until February 2026 teaching us how to be more fluid and inclusive in our structures. And lastly Pluto in Aquarius is still feeling very new.  So is you are feeling wobbly, remember to take things slowly.  We have lots of time with this aspect.

EXTRA

*Signs with an * it is a big week for you.   Capricorn/Aquarius this is a perfect time to get an Astrological Tarot Reading for your coming year.  And Cancer/Leo it is your halfway mark for your birth year, so if you need a Planetary Reading for a check in, now is the time.

*** Since it is a new year and I have some new subscribers, to explain my naming convention and experimentation with card titles.   I have switched from using the older suits name (pentacles, cups, swords, and wands) to a more elemental way of reading them which is earth, water, air, and fire.  Also, I would like to leave the binary and feudal system of the RWS’s court cards.  So, the RWS old version is Page, Knight, Queen, and King is changing to Heart (pure embodiment of element), Body (moving the element), Spirit (living the element) and Mind (taking care of the element). Or at least that is what I am playing with now.

**** I have a tip jar if you want to leave a gratuity.

May light be on you, around you, and within you.

Ace of Fire – All aces support beginnings and this ace’s realm is creativity, nature and spirituality.   The muses would like you to incorporate into your schedule for the next two weeks a ritual of awe.  Awe is defined as a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.  Yes, they want you to push your boundaries just a bit, so it feels a little intimidating, but the rewards are awesome.

Nine of Fire – The Muse of Resilience comes when you need to set boundaries and firmly ground yourself.  She reminds you that you have the strength to do what needs to be done and protect what you have fought hard to safeguard.   You can huddle into that crab shell if need be if the waves hit – remember you were built for the give and take of the tides.

Leo

Seven of Air – The Muse of Deception comes when you are not being truthful with yourself.  Now for most of you cats this comes out as you are not good enough, unsure or feeling like an impostor.  This muse reminds you that overall, this is not true you know things and are good at what you do, but there is a small truth in it.  She asks, “do you need to strengthen a skill?  Do you need to find more resources? Do you need help?  There is a lack though it is not in you innately.  The challenge is seeing it as something missing that needs to be found and fixed not as a lack that needs to be hidden or disguised.  Time to find out, fess up and fix it.

Virgo
A lady and a road map, Bernice Bing

Spirit of Air – For the next two weeks details become vitally important.  The Muse of Specifics reminds you that the small stuff actually matters during this period.  So read the fine print.  When negotiating, do not assume.  Read the room before starting conversations.  Ask for clarification.  This muse is not a harbinger of doom, but she does advise that a “laissez faire” attitude will lead to more chaos then flow.

Libra
Bernice Bing
Lotus circle Lotus Goddess, Bernice Bing

Body of Water – The Muse of Flirting is hanging out with you for the next two weeks.  She wants you to strengthen your “charm muscles”.  Charm is defined as the power or quality of giving delight or arousing admiration.  These next two weeks smile at strangers, dole out compliments, and even wink at yourself when you walk by a mirror.  You have some “fine” qualities and now is the time to show off and remind yourself how irresistible you can be.

Scorpio
Mayacamas, Bernice Bing

Body of Earth – The Muse of Pace walks with you for the next few weeks.  This energy comes when you need to readjust your pace to be appropriate to the work that needs doing.  She advises to ground yourself in purpose, the why behind what you do, and examine your surroundings before moving forward.  And for some of you this is about moving your physical body in a new way.  So, if your old exercise regime is not working now is the perfect time for a change.

Sagittarius
Map Forms #2, Bernice Bing

*Fool – The Muse of Journeys is roaming with you for at least the next two weeks.  She asks you to strengthen your exploration muscles.  Maybe some of you feel stuck or others on the precipice of new but haven’t taken the leap.  This energy wants you to jump into the unknown.  This can be as simple as taking a different way home or trying a new place to eat lunch.  Or as complex as starting a new relationship, project or job.  The key with working with this muse is to have faith not in the destination but in the journey itself.

Capricorn
Bernice Bing
Big, Sur, Bernice Bing

*Tower – Where the last two weeks were about seeding the new, these two weeks are about deconstructing what no longer works.   The Muse of Sudden Change forewarns that change is coming and there are parts of your structures that are not retrofitted for this evolution.  She advises spending the next two weeks clearing the decks of unnecessary clutter, making sure your resources are stocked, planning how you want to rebuild, etc…  This energy is not about fear but about preparation, so when change happens you can mitigate the chaos around it.

Aquarius
Generations, Bernice Bing

Heart of Earth – The Muse of Study is hanging with you for the coming weeks.  She shows up when you need to learn a new skill.  Now the key is putting energy into learning something that you actually want to do or grow.  She asks what do you need to know that will ground you in your purpose? And she reminds you not to get too philosophical with this question. This should be fairly simple and practical. Like learning how to file you own taxes, fix a squeaky door, keep your plants alive….

Pisces
Healing, Bernice Bing

*Moon – The Muse of Emotional Literacy is hanging out with you these coming weeks.  She comes when emotional tides are high, and you need to work on navigating them.  The issue with you, fishy-folk is that you can be very susceptible to the influence of others’ emotions.  So, your work for the coming weeks is to decipher what you are feeling and what you are picking up from someone else. However, this muse does remind you that other people’s emotions can reflect areas needed for your personal healing.  If you still feel in the dark, an exercise she suggests is asking your subconscious for guidance before you go to sleep.   Dreams are gateways to information during this time.
