Tarot and Art-Cast for April 7-20, 2024

Sasha Gordon

The artist this week is Sasha Gordon.  Gordon is a portrait artist that directs the viewer to the study of self.  That we all change our perceptions of self, depending on mood as well as our surroundings.  In her words: “At first I said ‘Oh they’re not me. They’re just variations of myself.’ While I still think that’s true, they’re definitely all me. I don’t see myself as one person. I change depending on who I’m with or what the situation is or my mood and all these other aspects. Growing up, I guess I had a hard time seeing myself as a person. Painting myself so solidly is a way of making myself feel more permanent and present.”

Your pondering for this week:  We are humans, multi-faceted.  And if we acknowledge this, we can see that in others.  Hopefully brings us to a state of less judgment, more acceptance and ultimately the beauty of our chameleon-like moods and the complexity of humaning.  Where do you judge yourself and others? And what do you do to feel more permanent and present in yourself?

Solar System highlights

The moon begins in Aries – great time to start on a project or an idea you have left dormant. On Tuesday the moon moves into Taurus, you have the energy to make things grow.  Then on Friday the moon is in Gemini – time for hanging out with friends for the weekend.    Then Sunday, the 17th, the moon moves into Cancer- self-care is your top priority.  On Tuesday the 18th it moves into Leo – time to shine.  And on Friday April 19th the moon moves into Virgo, a great time for spring cleaning or working outdoors.

There is a solar eclipse on April 8th that can be seen across the US.  For all you Aries and Libra with sun signs and natal nodes watch/listen for downloads of information for the next couple of days.

Mercury is in Aries until May 15th giving us a crash course in learning to say what we need in a non-reactive way and working on making sure our actions follow our words.  Venus joins Mercury during this teachable moment giving us more grace when we are attempting to better our communication skills.

Mars is still in Pisces with Saturn.   And they are prompting us to act on being adaptable, especially in our day-to-day life.  This theme of adaptable action, beauty, and harmony lasts until the end of April.

EXTRA

*** Signs with an * it is a big week for you.  Aries this is a perfect time to get an Astrological Tarot Reading for your coming year.  And Libra it is your halfway mark for your birth year, so if you need a Planetary Reading for a check in now is the time. And I have a tip jar if you want to leave a gratuity for the weekly forecasts.

****And I am experimenting again.   I had switched from using the older suits name (pentacles, cups, swords, and wands) to a more elemental way of reading them which is earth, water, air, and fire.  Now I would like to leave the binary and feudal system of the RWS’s court cards.  So, the RWS old version is Page, Knight, Queen, and King is changing to Heart (pure embodiment of element), Body (moving the element), Spirit (living the element) and Mind (taking care of the element).

May light be on you, around you, and within you.

Nina

Aries
Sasha Gordon, Static

*Hermit – Where the last two weeks have been about Momentum this next two are about standing back and getting perspective. The muses had you set goals and maintain focus.  Now it is time to step back from your projects and your life a bit and see what is or is not working.  This energy aligns perfectly with Mercury being in retrograde. A time of reflect, reassess, and redo.   Take these next two weeks to tweak what needs to be modified.   This Muse of Perspective also suggests finding space in your schedule to just ponder and let ideas bubble up.

Taurus
Sasha Gordon, Drive Through

Seven of Fire – The Muse of Will is with you these next two weeks to help you establish and protect your boundaries and ideas.  The challenge with this energy is choosing when the fight is just, is it producing more harm than good, and/or understanding your alliances and antagonists so that you are expending energy efficiently.  She asks is this a fight or just a boundary dispute? While reminding that you can have boundaries without engaging in a full war; for some fights are not worth the effort and wars are too big to take on alone.

Gemini
Sasha Gordon, Campfire

Heart of Earth – The Muse of Experiencing comes when you need to gain new knowledge or skills.  The next two weeks work on filling the gaps in your knowledge or skill sets.  However, she prompts you to look outside your normal sphere of stimuli and do some critical thinking in a new environment or experience.  Whether that is finding a new space to do your work or reading a book outside your regular genera, she prods you to make new connections to old experiences.

Cancer
Sasha Gordon, Concert Mistress

*Emperor – The Muse of Building would like your next two weeks to focus on building something that already is in play in your life.  Use this retrograde period to reflect, reassess and redo especially in the considerations of the concept of durability as well as adaptability. She asks does this job, portfolio, or project have the components to last/work for the coming months or years?  Is it flexible to evolve with you? Are you building for a brighter future or just building to keep busy?

Leo
Sasha Gordon, Garden Troll

*Fool – The Muse of Spontaneity has arrived to shake up some of your restrictions and self-afflicted boundaries.  She is promoting you that for the next two weeks fill them with new tastes, thoughts, and experiences, which ultimately shake up your emotions.  You all as sign dive deep into experience, but like any cat that will jump an expanse without a thought and then be frightened by the watery aspects of life.  This Muse is asking you to just be in the new without judging it or comparing it to the old.  Clean slates my friends.

Virgo
Sasha Gordon, Echo

Seven of Water – The Muse of Dreams would like you to use this retrograde period to ponder, daydream and use your imagination.  This is an exercise of letting go of limits and letting your imagination run wild.  Yes, this is a hard assignment because this is an exploration of possibilities without the constructs of perfection, reality, boundaries, and structures you all like.  She reminds you that fantasy is a way to explore the unknown without leaving the house.  And maybe you can come home with a unicorn or dragon.

Libra
Sasha Gordon, In My Dreams I Dance For You

Heart of Air – The Muse of Lift would like you to focus on what lifts you and how you lift others?  For the next two weeks use this retrograde period to tweak the aspects that give you air to breath and energy to fly on.  These can be spending time with those that lift you spirits or going on solo flights of fancy.  Your goal, support and strengthen the areas of that are your “air beneath your wings.”

Scorpio
Sasha Gordon, Surrogate Self

*High Priestess – So these past weeks have had you step away and gain perspective on what system you need to refine and then come down from the proverbial mountain and put them in place.  Now the Muse of Meaning would like you to spend the next two weeks using your intuition making sure those systems align with your principles and support what brings meaning to your life.  If lost or unsure of where to start ask the muses for information, but remember they work in signs and synchronicities so eyes, ears, and mind open.

Sagittarius
Sasha Gordon, Muse

Ten of Air – These next two weeks the muses would like you to work on finalizing areas of your life that are like a burr under your saddle.  This can be a simple as oiling a squeaky door or as complex as letting a bad habit go.  The key is picking the things you know that you can accomplish solo.  For the coming weeks, people will try to force their agendas onto yours. Retrogrades with an eclipse is going to put some people in a spin and best you avoid the spin as much as possible.

Capricorn
Sasha Gordon, Hugger

*Empress – The Muse of Nurturing would like you to spend these next two weeks cultivating this practice into your daily life.  She asks how do you nurture yourself?  What project(s) would you like to develop in 10 months’ time?  Who requires your nurturing?  And then this muse reminds you not to rush answering these questions or the nurturing itself.  The practice of nurturing is also a practice of patience and subtlety.

Aquarius
Sasha Gordon, Mirror

*Star – Okay I don’t know what you guys have been doing but for the last 4 weeks you all got the card of rest and restoration, and this card is the Big Momma of the 4 of Air.  So maybe you didn’t really relax the last four weeks. Or maybe you just need more rest.  So, a stronger message from the Muse of Healing is asking you to sit your butt down.  This is a muse you work with your whole life.  Her areas are healing and hope in all its forms and challenges.  So hopefully these next two weeks you will do some things that rejuvenate your inner flame.  These can be as simple as getting massage and a salt scrub, planning a much-needed vacation, having a designated daily unplug time, or putting in time with activities that light you up without tiring you out.

Pisces
Sasha Gordon, Trimmings

Eight of Stone – The last two weeks the Muse of Building wanted you to focus on building something that already is in play in your life.  Now the Muse of Labor is telling you to focus on the steps to make that happen.  Remember this is a retrograde time so this is not a time for new projects but a time to get projects that are already in the works.  And remember this is a time when adaptability is vital to all that you build.  So, this retrograde period might be used for tweaking and incorporating the flexibility in said work.

Tarot and Art Forecast for Week of March 20, 2022

Philippe Halsman
Philippe Halsman Audrey Hepburn

Happy Birthday Aries!  And Happy Spring and Nowruz!

Nowruz (new day) is a Spring festival that dates to ancient Persia 3,000 years ago.  Nowruz is celebrated in a variety of countries that marks not only spring but also the beginning of the Iranian solar calendar.  Celebrations begin two to three weeks leading up and including the Vernal Equinox.  People preform ritual dances, fill vessels in the home with water to banish bad luck and set up tables covered with the seven symbolic items: seed sprouts – rebirth, senjed (Persian olive)- love, garlic – protection, apple – fertility, sumac – love, vinegar – patience, and samanu a pudding made from sprouted wheat = wealth.   And celebrators on the Wednesday night before the Equinox jump over fire to scare away a bad luck.

Therefore, to continue the use of light and in honor of Nowruz tradition of jumping over fire we focus on photographer Philippe Halsman and his Jumps series.  A Halsman portrait is easy to identify.  It has strong lightening, often a sense of the absurd and his unique stamp in the darkroom. As in his words: For me, lighting is what a brush is to a painter.  I want my light to give an awareness of the 3rd dimension, that it shows volume and depth.  Above all I consider light as a means of characterization.” In the 1930’s he also designed his own camera with a quicker click speed and that had the photographer look through the lens, instead of standing beside the camera.  By doing this it made his sitter look into the camera and gave Halsman more control over what he could capture in the moment.

In the early 1950’s Halsman started asking famous people to jump and capture it using his distinctive lightening, sense of humor and his talent for bring out unique and often hidden aspects of his subjects.  “I was motivated by a genuine curiosity.  After all, life has taught us to control and disguise our facial expressions, but it has not taught us to control our jumps.  I wanted to see famous people reveal in a jump, their ambition or their lack of it, their self-importance or their insecurity, and many other traits.”  Your pondering for this week:  What characteristics come to play when you are asked to jump?

Solar System highlights:  The Moon starts in Scorpio – spring has sprung.  Then on Tuesday it moves into Sagittarius – get outside to take breaks from the grind. On Thursday it goes into Capricorn to help us finish up projects and our work week.  Then for the weekend the Moon is in Aquarius a perfect time to investigate the arts, read a book expand your mind. Mercury is in Pisces until March 27th – talk through dreams with friends but not so great if you are trying to pin down action plans or solutions.

Mars (action) is in Aquarius (innovation, perspective, and long-term thinking). Time to experiment with innovations.  But if you are trying to get something done quickly, be aware that for the next couple of weeks there might be more talking then doing.  Venus (beauty, relationships) is also in Aquarius this can be a great time to do long term planning with your significant others or dabble in creative endeavors with them.  But still remember not to push for solutions or set goals in stone – brainstorming is key.   Jupiter is in Pisces until May; this aspect is dreamy and holds opportunity and luck.  And lastly, Saturn remains in Aquarius for all of 2022 – so innovating and upping your game is the focus again for another year.

P.S. Signs with an * it is a big week for you.  Aries this is a perfect time to get an Astrological Tarot Reading for your coming year.  And Libra it is your halfway mark for your birth year, so if you need a Planetary Reading for a check-in, now is the time.

May light be on you, around you, and within you,

Nina

Tarot and Art Forecast for Week of April 25, 2021

Pan YuLiang
Pan YuLiang

Planets:  There is a Full Moon in Scorpio tomorrow which lights up our shadow side and since it squares off with Saturn and Uranus things can get harsh.  So, the next couple of days pull back, stay calm and work on yourself.  Also, Mars just went into Cancer.  That is not its favorite position, fire versus water, so things can get sensitive, but it is great configuration for anything that has to do with sprucing up your home, hanging out with family, or self-care.

This week’s artist is Pan YuLiang (Pan YuLin).  Pan was one of the first woman artists in China to paint in Western style.  However, until recently, her work was controversial for she painted or drew nudes instead of the traditional subjects for women at the time, florals, and still-life.  Often having to pose as her own model.  Even though she was appointed Dean of Western Art at the Shanghai Art Academy her nudes were often taken down at her shows in China. She permanently moved to Paris in late 1930’s and stayed until her death.   Posthumously, she is getting the notoriety due to her, not only in China but worldwide.

Pan’s paintings combine the traditional lines of Chinese ink drawings and the bold colors of Fauvism.  Her images much like Frida Kahlo’s show the strength and poetic gestures of women being woman.  Through art expressing the concepts of feminism, celebrating the strong female image without extinguishing our beauty.  She also worked in the disciplines of sculpture, watercolor and print making.  In each she pursued the adage Finding oneself through our forefathers, yet not forgetting oneself in the past.  So, I pose this pondering to you:  how do you use your past without getting tethered to it?

P.S. Signs with an * it is a big week for you.  Taurus this is a perfect time to get an Astrological Tarot Reading for your coming year.  And Scorpio it is your halfway mark for your birth year, so if you need a Planetary Reading for a check-in, now is the time.

May light be on you, around you, and within you,

Nina

Queen of Swords – The Muse of Details is here to help you.  By drilling down and focus on the details you can create enough energy to push through any inertia or apathy.  One metaphorical or literal exercise is to clean your sink, groat in your shower, or the edge of baseboards with a toothbrush.  Before you know it, you will bring out the bigger tools and clean the whole bathroom.   By attacking one small to-do, it will start the domino effect needed to help you gain momentum to do more.

Tarot and Art Forecast for Week of August 23, 2020

Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

Happy birthday month Virgos!

The artist this week is Ed Fairburn.  He creates portraits using traditional ink, pen and pencil but with a unique canvas, old maps.  Fairburn calls this process “topopointillism, a combination of topography and pointillism.”  His pieces examined closely still contain the information of the map, but the viewer also paradoxically loses the person.  This resonates with the science inquiry of what percentage of our genetics or our environment effect who we are.  Or the philosophical inquiry that one event can define us.  We are influenced by where we inhabit and what we do in each moment.  But our life is not just as simple as the sum of its part or the how, what, when and the who.  What makes us magical and unique is the alchemy of the whole, the whys.

P.S. Signs with an * it a big week for you.  Virgo this is a perfect time to get an Astrological Tarot Reading for your coming year.  And Pisces it is your halfway mark for your birth year, so if you need a Planetary Reading for a check in now is the time.

May light be on you, around you, and within you,

Nina

Aries
Ed Fairburn

Eight of Wands – Last week’s energy was prodding you to produce a plethora of beauty and ingenuity.  Challenging you to allow for experimentation and mistakes while letting your imagination play.   This energy of discovery continues this week.  The task to truly playing is you must accept there is no simple yes or no.  This week is about moving forward with the unknown – without all the answers.

Taurus
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

*Devil – As they say the devil is in the details and details have the potential to be your biggest foe in the coming week.  So you have two ways to choose how to deal with this.  Either to purposely dig deep into the rabbit holes and allow distraction to take you off course.  You will get to your destination at some point.  Or let go of all the details and go with the flow.  Being more flexible and permitting imperfection in.  The challenges with either choice is seeing that you have a choice and make either one more fun.

Gemini
Ed Fairburn

*Judgement – Last week’s energy was about changing your fortune.  And your challenge was to follow the breadcrumbs of synchronicities and serendipities.  This week is another high energy week with a reckoning at its core.  You need to see yourself as the beautiful spark of inspiration that you are.  That because of your flaws you shine more brightly.  Your motto:  There is a crack, a crack in everything.  That’s how the light gets in.  Leonard Cohen

Cancer
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

Eight of Coins – The last two weeks were high energy about building and planning your future that ethically balance mind, heart, and soul.  This week is taking all that and doing the feet on the ground work.  It is a great week to get things off your to do list.

Leo
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

Six of Cups – So last week the energy was to trust that the blank canvas of your coming year would have to be a paint as you go scenario, while challenging you to not repeat old patterns or keep that canvas blank.  This week you get to use the five planets in retro energy to do the 3 R’s reflect, reassess and revise.  The challenge is not getting too sentimental with the past. Use it as a resource, not your only foundation of reality.   An exercise in this is going through photo albums and just pick a couple of photos per trip that really have the feeling of the memory.  Then use the rest in art projects or creating wallpaper for your bathroom or living space.

Virgo
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

Ace of Wands – This week is a great week to start anything.  The challenge is to pick something that inspires you for at least a six-month period or longer.  This energy is about planting and growing a seed now that you can harvest in 2021.

Libra
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

*Hermit – This week’s energy compels you to find seclusion.  You need to pull away from society as much as possible, reground and gain some perspective.  As much as you can, turn off technology, the news and try not to answer the phone.  You need to realign your wants and needs without hearing all the hubbub around you.  Silent contemplation is your friend.

Scorpio
Ed Fairburn

*Emperor – The energy this week is highly active and used best in building what is already started. This project needs your guidance and you might have to call in some favors to get it moving towards completion.  Your challenge is though this endeavor needs a leader it does not need a tyrant.  Watch your bossiness. Don’t be a sheep dog wrangling its flock by nipping at their heels.  Think more like a helpful guide dog, nudging people to the right path.

Sagittarius
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

Three of Wands – Last week was all about not getting distracted but realizing that part of your antsyness is that you need to schedule some fun.  Sadly, this week’s energy does not allow you as much funtastic time as your soul needs.  So, the key to another week of work is setting up plans for an everyday ritual/period of letting off steam.

Capricorn
Ed Fairburn

Queen of Swords – The energy this week is a no-nonsense, no-BS, and all about clear visioning.  This is a great week to do solid planning, strategically thinking, diving down to the details, and making sure your communications are clear.

Aquarius
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

*Temperance – The energy this week is about balancing multiple elements into a cohesive path.  This can look like having a lot of disconnected projects or tasks, but you perfectly plan the right route to get it all done and still eat, exercise, and relax.  The key is divvying up the tasks in a way that creates ease throughout the whole week.

Pisces
Ed Fairburn
Ed Fairburn

Six of Coins – The last couple of weeks’ energies felt a little like you were on a roller coaster or yo-yo.   This week’s energy calms down to a nicely balanced week.  There is still give and take, positive and negative forces, but it does not feel like you are dealing with extreme g-forces anymore.  Leaving you exhausted and feeling squished.  The only challenge this week is that energy exchange does happen.  So, the more positive energy you put out the more you get in return; however, this works for negative too.

Tarot and Art Forecast for Week of Jan 12, 2020

Tawny Chatmon

This week’s artist is Tawny Chatmon.  She creates the most beautiful portraits.  As she states they are ‘loosely inspired by art from the 15th-19th century with specific intent of bringing to the forefront faces that often under-celebrated in this style of work.”  She believes that “our memories and our experiences are directly responsible for who we become.”

So, if we want equality, freedom and peace for all people, we need to experience all of our faces as commonplace and in positive light.  Look around in your environment and see if you are expanding your creations, experiences, memories – who you are – wide enough to encompass all of you, humanity, and the world.

P.S. Remember signs with an * it a big week for you.  Capricorn this is a perfect time to get an Astrological Tarot Reading for your coming year.  And Cancer it is your halfway mark for your birth year, so if you need a Planetary Reading for a check in now is the time.

Gemini

Tawny Chatmon

Three of Cups – Last week called for you to do some healing and take time aligning with the positive.    This energy continues this week if you hang out with friends as part of the process.  The Three of Cups comes when your emotional wells are needing to be filled, and the people who know you well can help.

Leo

Tawny Chatmon

Eight of Coins – Another week that is all about business.  This week’s energy is all work, but you are also totally prepared and skill for all you must do.  The only challenge is to run this week like a marathon not a sprint.  Keep hydrated along the way and by the weekend you can fully relax.

Virgo

Tawny ChatmonFive of Coins – Chaotic energy is prevalent this week.  Be careful this does not send your head spinning into loss and feeling as if you have scant resources.  Your read on this energy is right; it is not a week to invest into new projects.  So the challenge is realizing that you are not alone, nor lost, nor poor.  Your wealth and help lies in the family, friends and/or the community at large.

Libra

Tawny Chatmon

Eight of Cups – It is time to let go of emotional baggage that you have been carrying.  The energy this week is about releasing.  The challenge is letting yourself do it without guilt.

Scorpio

Tawny ChatmonQueen of Pentacles – Last week, the energy was about creating harmony while still maintaining a duality in your nature and/or with others.  Your challenge is connecting with the ones you love without losing either’s selfhoods, and/or harmonizing your own masculine and feminine energy.  This process will help you with this week’s energy of being a provider and comforter.  The challenge in being both is having a solid foundation built on your own needs and allow others to maintain their freedom while you nurture theirs.

Sagittarius

Tawny ChatmonPage of Swords – The energy this week is about information lying hidden.  The goal this week is finding truths that are hidden or disguised.  Start asking subtle but leading questions to the answers you want to find.  The challenge is hearing what is said and then discerning which avenue to take to discover the information at its fullest. The truth is there but you are going to have to dig for it.

Capricorn

Tawny ChatmonFour of Swords – Last week your energy work was gardening and growth.  Create and design.  Plant and nurture. Tend and weed.  And finally, balance the work with the pleasures that you have reaped from that work.  That last task is extended to this week.  Your challenge is slowing your roll and being still.  Learning how to rest is a needed skill to practice this week.  This is a big year for Capricorns.  So, with all that cosmic activity you will be dealing with (from January 2020 until December 2020), this is the only week with Mercury in your sign that your personal needs are easily heard.  After the this your purpose and will take front stage. So, I must repeat take this week to relax, talk and physically listen to your body and soul.

Aquarius

Tawny ChatmonWorld – This energy shows up when opportunities are at your doorstep to take and other doors can be closed.  This is a great time to start something new.  To say yes to things that you wouldn’t normally say yes to.  The challenge around this card is feeling as if you say yes means that you can’t back out of it, and/or you might close doors you are not ready to.  Oh contre mon ami.  This energy likes you to try out new things so you can find what best fits the new you. So any closed door can be open again, but you might find the new landscape better fits who you are now.

Pisces

Ace of Cups – New beginnings on the emotional front are this week’s energy.   Manifesting joy and love is the energy form to work with.  The challenge is truly feeling you deserve it.

May light be on you, around you, and within you,

Tarot-cast for Week of March 10, 2019

Laura Knight was a ceiling smashing artist at the beginning of the 1900’s.  She became the first woman elected to a full membership of the Royal Academy in 1936 and the first to get her own retrospective exhibition there though it took 30 more years to obtain that.  One of her first controversially pieces, above, was Self portrait with a nude (see Aries) .  This portrait shows herself painting a nude. This was to retaliate the rule that women were only allowed to paint nude forms by casts or copying existing drawings.   The painting composition is not only the finest but also intriguing.

She continued her rebellious nature by the choice of her subjects of portraits.  Many of her portrait studies were from marginalized people of the time doing either the highly unusual or the mundane, like having a woman with cropped hair holding a gun, gypsies, people of color, circus people, or more famously woman working in military.   Why is it still shocking seeing these portrays today – is it because these population are still marginalized and stereotyped so when we see them, we are still “amazed?”

P.S.  Remember signs with an * it a big week for you.

Aries

Four of Cups – The Four of Cups, another week where your emotions take the forefront.  This week the Four of Cups advises taking time pondering yourself, and here is the challenge also pondering your place in the world.  You hold many of the keys this week, but one is beyond your everyday personal space.  So, take a moment not only to look in but also to look out.

Taurus

Laura KnightSix of Coins – The Six of Coins is the mini karma card.  Be aware that especially this week that your interactions with others and your environment will ripple out and come back to you three-fold.  So, the nicer and more caring you are for the environment and people around you, the more positive the world will be towards you.  The challenge -this of course also works with negative energy.

Gemini

Laura Knight

Queen of Cups – Kindness and compassion is the key to this card.  Not only to those around you but also to yourself.  The challenge with this card is you can’t do either with goals or expectations.  This card is just a challenge to exercise your heart muscle.

Cancer

Laura KnightEight of Coins – This is your second eight in a row so let’s just check into the meaning of eights.  Eights are the cards that challenge improving and releasing.  Last week the cups ask you to release; this week the Coins ask you to improve.  The Eight of Coins advises honing the skill of getting into the zone, whether that is at work or play – trying for mastery is the key.  The challenge perfection is unobtainable.

Leo

Page of Coins – The Page of Coins advises that you need to keep an open mind this week.  Learning is the key that will help you with work.  The challenge – open mind, open ears, open heart.

Virgo

Knight of Cups – Oh this one is challenging for you all.  The Knight of Cups is inspiring you all to be vulnerable this week. What makes you vulnerable makes you beautiful.  Brene Brown

Libra

Laura KnightAce of Swords –It is a great week to be the philosopher and ponder on the bigger questions in life.  Your challenge is for your mind to think in ways it hasn’t thought before.  Also, if you have been holding off on a decision, this is the time to make it.

Scorpio

Laura Knight*Empress – The Empress is the card of growth and mothering.  This card wants for you all to reconnect with the person that was the most motherly to you – even in spirit if they no longer reside on this plane.  The challenge, however, is finding and cultivating those “motherly” qualities in yourself. Not only for providing support and compassion for others but also giving you an internal source to dip into when you need it.

Sagittarius

Laura Knight

Queen of Wands – The Queen of Wands advises that nature and magic are key to you this week.  This card challenges you to conjure up some magic to ignite your imagination.  Whether that is a walk in the woods to find fairies, pondering a starry night for UFOS, or putting socks under your bed for monsters.   The more magical your thinking the freer your mind becomes from the mundane.

Capricorn

Laura KnightThree of Swords – The Three of Swords ask you to be honest with your emotional thinking.  This card asks you to let go of some thought patterns that are not working.  The challenge is sitting with that emptiness – not fill it back up with another thought or emotion- so your mind and heart can heal.

Aquarius

Laura Knight*Tower – The Tower is the card of destruction from an outside force that make you start anew.  This card comes up when something needs to be fixed that you have been putting off.  The best way to head off a possible catastrophe is to fix the problem.  This can be as simple as fixing that door handle that keeps falling off, scheduling in some “me time” so you don’t burn out, or as complex as have that hard talk with a love one before frustration burns down the house.

Pisces

Laura KnightNine of Swords – The Nine of Swords is the card of excess thinking and worry.  The challenge with this card is to figure out which worries you can fix and put them on a to-do list (out of your head-space) and the rest to put on a list and flush them (you can literally flush then if you put them on TP).  Another exercise is when a worry comes up replace it with a song or image that makes you smile or even better laugh.  The point being making more room for quiet contemplation instead of yammering worries.

May light be on you, around you, and within you,

Nina
