Tarot and Artcast for December 2025

Hi All,

Due to my surgery and my annual soul retreat during Winter Solstice to the New Year, this is the last forecast until the first week in January. This cast I am asking the muses to give you a word or saying to ponder on the lessons, challenges and warnings to wrap up 2025 and begin 2026.

Also, I just want to express how grateful I am for you all walking with me through my exploration of art and tarot. I wish you all great joy and happiness as we finish off 2025 and begin our journey into 2026. See you in January 2026.

Solar System highlights

Mercury is back in Sagittarius until the end of the year – chatty Cathy is in the house. Mars also moves into Capricorn on December 15^th – great to tie up loose ends and plan for new beginnings. Venus is in Sagittarius until December 24^th – wanting us to be curious and then moves into Capricorn where we focus on making beauty more tangible in our lives.

Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Cancer until June 2026. This placement is exalted, because Cancer boosts Jupiter’s positive aspects and vice versa. Jupiter creates more ease in our emotional growth, intuition, feeling nurtured as well as giving it. However, the two-fold challenge is that growth needs time to cultivate and may bring growing pains. So be kind and patient with others and yourself as we grow into our abundance.

Lastly, Saturn is back in Piscis until February of 2026. So, we are back to our structures having trouble being…well… structured. And I am sending out extra feel-good vibes for you all with a Saturn in Aries or Pisces and are dealing with this erratic Saturn return.

Tarot and Artcast for Nov 2 -15

Hi All,

So, the beginning of the tarotcast will be a bit different – some news and changes. First, I am going to have surgery mid-November and I am not sure how the tarotcast is going to fit in. But I will try to get another 1 or 2 in before Winter Solstice.

Second, ten years ago, I started doing this tarotcast blog. At first it was just each sign’s tarot forecast for the week. I have always believed that science and art are two arms that help us figure out our place in the universe. And if I found something interesting, I would write about that. But then the cast quickly morphed into smatterings of science and a larger focus on art by fringe groups not equally represented in the Big A art scene.

The other aspect of doing this was my pondering: is casting tarot statistically significant? Statistically significant means a result is not likely to have occurred by random chance alone; it suggests a real underlying effect or difference, i.e. can woo be tracked. So, I kept excel sheets collecting data points from the tarotcast’s cards that each sign got throughout the ten years.

Each year I looked at the data in two ways, how many times each card was pulled (for anomalies) and what the actual cards were for each sign (trends). You can see the individual years in review for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.

Over the course of ten years, I have pulled the cards over 6,000 times, putting the drawn card back into the mix after each pull for a zodiac sign. And after looking at the data, I feel like pulling the cards isn’t a random act. Let me just say, what I did may not be fool-proof and some statisticians would say I would need way more data points or possible because my shuffling wasn’t random enough, etc.…, but that aside I still find the this process interesting. And now to look at the data for the past 10 years.

The Data

There are 78 cards in a tarot deck. The average amount of times I pulled a card in this 10 year period was 70, the median was 69 and the standard deviation was 10. So, the 78 card possibilities fall within of the average + or – deviation. However, there were 24 anomalies, that would be individual tarot cards pulled less than 60 or above 80 pulls.

The 3 highest cards pulled above the average are: Eight of Wands – 99 times, Ace of Swords – 97 times, Fool- 90 times. The 3 lowest are: Wheel – 48 times, 6 of cups- 51 times, nine of cups- 52 times. I find it interesting that the 2 higher arcane cards are The Fool- the journey, foolishness and wisdom and the Wheel – chance. And the most pulled lower arcane cards are 8 of wands – information, and Ace of Swords- new ways to think. The lowest being 6 of cups – past/children and 9 of cups – satisfaction/nonsatisfaction.

So, with that – take what works for you and leave the rest behind.

My pondering

Now that I have completed my challenge I am rethinking how I want to go forward with this tarotcast as of 2026. And I would love your input to help me figure out what is next. I still love finding artists, pondering and pulling cards. But I am iffy about the solar system part. I am not sure which social media site to continue with. Or the frequency/maybe break it up or make it shorter and more frequent…. And most importantly I want to expand what I read with (non-standard tarot, oracle cards and playing around with new types of divination tools) to keep things fresh and help with my exploration of my 108 project. So please write me back if you have input. ……….Or not and enjoy the ride ; ).

*Tower – Now is the time to look at your foundations and make sure they are supporting you. This might be complicated that you may need to deconstruct before you begin fixing or it can be a simple application of metaphorical spackle. The key is seeing what isn’t working, creating and then implementing a plan to make sure your structures/resources/relationships are supporting what you need. If you go for the spackle route, just remember that this is a quick fix while you do the planning for the major reconstruction.

*Divine Feminine – The Divine Feminine is calling on you to do some deep pondering on creativity and sensuality. She first asks, “how do you define a good life? Does it include space for you to create without goals? How do you care for yourself and those around you? If you find it is too reliant on the material this is a time to rebalance it with your heart’s objectives.

Spirit of Earth – The Muse of Sensuality is hanging with you for this Scorpio season. She comes when you need to reconnect with your five senses. She suggests consciously indulging in at least one of your senses each day. Let chocolate linger on your tongue. Relax your ears into a melody. Get or give a massage. Nine of Trees – Use these coming weeks to finish up projects and get things tidied up for the coming season. This is not the best time to start new projects. The muses would like you to get as much off your plate, so you can enjoy some rest and relaxation before 2026 starts. Keep on keeping on.

Five of Water – The Muse of Silver Lining’s is your companion for the coming weeks. She usually shows up when you are focusing too much on what isn’t working instead of seeing what is and working with that to take your next steps. Mistakes are vital in the learning process, but now is the time to leave them behind and move on.

Spirit of Fire – The Spirit of Fire would like you to spend time creating, growing, sprouting and wilding. She suggests less goals and more exploring your passions for just the heck of it. She asks you to play with what powers your motivation. Explore what excites you.

Aquarius

Eight of Fire – The Muse of Messages comes when you have possible overloads of information are coming at you. She suggests a few ways to deal with the onslaught and still reap its benefits. One possible way is to just focus on a couple of aspects you need answers to. The other is acknowledging everything without distilling any of the information. Let it wash over you and see what sticks. Either way you will get some needed information for the coming months.

Pisces

*Tower – The Muse of Deconstruction comes when aspect of your life is not working, and you need to tear it back to the foundation of why you started this construction in the first place. You can no longer metaphorically spackle the cracks. The key is seeing what isn’t working, creating and then implementing a plan to create new structures and resources to construct a better building.

Tarot and Art-cast for July 6-19, 2025

The artist highlighted is Kawase Hasui. Kawase was famous for his landscape paintings and prints. He was part of the Shin-hanga (new prints) art movement in early 20^th century Japan. Shin-hanga artists incorporated the impression of light and the expression of individual moods. Kawase’s sunset landscapes and his choice of everyday scenes instead of famous landmarks show how he is capturing a mood more then highlighting the subject. He moved away from ukiyo-e traditions of emulating hand-drawn brushstrokes, seeking instead to “create works replete with creativity and rich with artistic quality, by avoiding enslavement to hand-drawn painting or old models”

Your pondering: Two ponderings around this art. Is your creativity or work stunted by an established norm? How can you change or focus on how your environment influences your mood?

Solar System highlights

We start the week with the moon in Sagittarius – explore. On Wednesday the moon moves into Capricorn – great for business or for working through projects. On Saturday the moon is in Aquarius – spend some time pondering. It moves into Pisces on Monday July 14^th – daydreams and wishes are on the agenda. Then Wednesday July 16^th the moon is in Aries – now that you have had some time to think put things into action. On Friday July 18^th it is in Taurus – great for hanging with family and friends.

Mercury is in Leo. Giving us an 11-week crash course in expressing ourselves with the caveat that we don’t step on other’s shine while we spread our own light. Venus moves into Gemini work on your sweet talk. Mars is Libra – work on collaborating and cooperating.

Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Cancer until June 2026. This placement is exalted, because Cancer boosts Jupiter’s positive aspects. While Jupiter creates more ease in our emotional growth, intuition, feeling nurtured as well as giving it. However, the two-fold challenge during this time is that growth needs time to cultivate and sometimes this growth brings growing pains. So be kind and patient with others and yourself as we grow into our abundance. Saturn is in Aries until September 1^st for its first round of pumping up energy levels. This aspect is about calibrating how you burn your “candle”, so that you don’t burn out while everything is on the move around us.

And we have another shift in the social planets. Uranus is dipping its toe into Gemini until November 7^th. Uranus is the planet of revolution, freedom and innovation and Gemini is all things around the mind, information, and communication. The last time it was in this sign democracy was being reborn. It will return to Taurus, which holds back Uranus tendance for uprisings until April 2026, so the old guard still has the reins. But we get a taste of the what that revolution needs to stand for in the coming months.

*Chariot – The Muse of Self-Motivation comes when you need to stop and recheck if the road you are on is taking you to your desired destination. This muse advises to spend these next two weeks revising your path and securing the resources you will need to move forward. And then when you are reoriented begin your journey again.

*Fool – Another big energy period for you. The last two weeks the Muse of Metamorphose ask you to look around and see what needs to evolve to the next level and transforming it into its higher form. Now the Muse of Leaps would like you to make a blind or semi-blind leap of faith to further this evolution. Ace of Earth – This is a lovely energy for your coming birth year. All aces signify new beginnings, and the Ace of Earth signifies new beginnings on the material plane. Now the Muse of Stillness is here for the last two weeks of your old birth-year to have you stop and contemplate. This isn’t so much about rest, though it is a part of this energy, but it is about sitting still and listening to your inner voice. To still your mind, get bored, stop being on the wheel and see what comes up for you. This is not a time to judge anything but to let things rise from the void. The goal is to metaphorically let the cream rise to the top, and to do so you need to be still.

*Wheel – The next two weeks the Muse of Fortune would like you to take chances. She reminds you that if you don’t spin the proverbial wheel, you never have the chance of winning. For with this mercurial energy, you can win big right away, it can take a meandering path to get to you, or you cannot win. (This is different than losing because you just didn’t get a prize, but you didn’t lose anything.) And an interesting result with this exercise of trying is it always leads you to positive returns.

Libra

Nine of Air – The Muse of Worrying comes when you are fretting over something you have no control over. Your thoughts are a whirlwind of apprehension and doubt. The muse suggests this exercise when your thoughts begin taking over. 1) Write them all down. 2) Cross off the ones you have no control over their outcome. 3) Prioritize the rest. Also, she reminds you not to chastise your mind for worrying. Worries are helpful by preparing us for the future; however, once you have prepared for what you can accomplish that is all any human can do.

Scorpio

Heart of Air – The Muse of Investigation comes when there is information that needs to be ferreted out. In most scenarios people are not trying to hide something or thwart you. They also may not have all the pieces to the puzzle or need help digging for the truth. This is also true when those around you generalize their answer to your “how are you?” They may need gentle coaxing to spill their proverbial beans.

Sagittarius

*Emperor – The Muse of Building is here to help you build upon something that is already in progress or that you have put on the back burner for too long. This muse heralds this is the right time to invest in yourself and your projects. This can be as simple as knocking of some of your “honey-to-do lists” or as complex as pulling down that idea of starting your own business and begin. Now is the time to make things happen.

Capricorn

Spirit of Fire – The Muse of Purpose asks you to spend these next two weeks pondering not only what do you want to create but why does it burn inside of you to do so. She advises spending time in museums, music halls, art galleries, or nature. To quiet your mind by observing what other masters of creativity and beauty inspire in you. And thus, connecting you to your own creative fire.

Aquarius

Seven of Fire – The Muse of Standing your Ground comes when either you need to strengthen your boundaries or reevaluate them. The latter is harder because maybe you are too dogmatic for the situation, compromising too much or giving up because you can’t see a solution. For any of these, this muse suggest that you engage a friend or supporter for help with either redrawing your boundaries, seeing your needs and/or just having another person by your side.

Pisces

Two of Fire – The Muse of Imagining comes when you need to do some planning and envisioning of your future. You can do this with a vision board or just write down a futuristic July 1^st, 2027, journal entry that sums up what you have accomplished and experienced. She does advise that you get as detailed as possible as well as envisioning general feelings that your future self will be feeling. By doing both you give the universe some concrete things to work on with you, as well as, giving the universe room to create what you can’t imagine for yourself.

Tarot and Art-cast for Jan 19 – Feb 1, 2025

The artist highlighted this tarotart-cast is Bernice Bing. Bing’s medium was paint and her mode was color and tone. Her paintings are big and bold. The viewer can see her fascination of the duality of light and dark, whether that was her landscape paintings or her later explorations of the unconscious world, Zen Buddhism and Chinese calligraphy. Abstraction as a practice gave her the ability to investigate her faceted self. Abstract art emerged primarily because artists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries wanted to break away from the traditional focus on realistically depicting the physical world, instead seeking to express emotions and ideas through color, line, and form, rather than recognizable imagery, leading to a movement that emphasized the inner experience and artistic interpretation over strict representation of reality.

Society and its constructs are often set in place to give us meaning and a sense of community. It is very human characteristic to want to define, categorize, create structures to explain and predict outcomes. But it also can constrain growth. This is the beauty of abstraction when we or aspects don’t fit into just one box we can explore without constraints.

Your pondering: Bing once said about doing art. “It’s like the highest form of art becomes a vehicle, like a mantra.” What is your mantra this year? Can you apply it to take an action to the highest level? Can your action/mantra both hold structure and allow growth?

Solar System highlights

We begin with the Moon in Libra – relationships are on the forefront. On Wednesday it moves into Scorpio – time to let something go. Then on Friday it moves into Sagittarius – spend the weekend exploring. On Monday the 27^th it moves into Capricorn – focus on work. Then on Wednesday the 29^th the moon moves into Aquarius – work on innovating something to the next level. And lastly for the weekend the lunation moves into Pisces – daydreaming and intuition is key.

Mercury is still in Capricorn until January 26^th, having us working on being efficient and succent with our conversation. Though be careful about coming off as too bossy or harsh. Motto: “I know things, but I don’t know everything.” The it moves into Aquarius. Mercury is now about socializing and innovating the way we communicate. Mars is retrograde again in Cancer until February 23^rd, 2025. So once again action moves sideways not in a straight line. But this is our second opportunity to find new and better avenues then the obvious or easiest ones.

Venus is now in Pisces until Feb 3^rd. This aspect is lovely – a dreamy haze. Though be careful with this stop and go energy of Mars that you don’t just daydream the month away. There still is action needed but it is a meandering organic evolution of your concepts of beauty and harmony. And Venus will retrograde back into Pisces in the spring. So don’t stress, once things get moving you will have a second chance to come back to this growth.

Our longer aspects: Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Gemini until June of 2025. This placement is here to help us work with opportunities to grow and succeed through intellectual, verbal, and written pursuits. However, we must also watch its challenging aspects: not following through, gossip, too much information and fickleness. Saturn is in Pisces until February 2026 teaching us how to be more fluid and inclusive in our structures. And lastly Pluto in Aquarius is still feeling very new. So is you are feeling wobbly, remember to take things slowly. We have lots of time with this aspect.

*** Since it is a new year and I have some new subscribers, to explain my naming convention and experimentation with card titles. I have switched from using the older suits name (pentacles, cups, swords, and wands) to a more elemental way of reading them which is earth, water, air, and fire. Also, I would like to leave the binary and feudal system of the RWS’s court cards. So, the RWS old version is Page, Knight, Queen, and King is changing to Heart (pure embodiment of element), Body (moving the element), Spirit (living the element) and Mind (taking care of the element). Or at least that is what I am playing with now.

Ace of Fire – All aces support beginnings and this ace’s realm is creativity, nature and spirituality. The muses would like you to incorporate into your schedule for the next two weeks a ritual of awe. Awe is defined as a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder. Yes, they want you to push your boundaries just a bit, so it feels a little intimidating, but the rewards are awesome.

Taurus

Six of Earth – The Muse of Giving is challenging you to extend a helping hand. She reminds you that little acts of kindness have a way of reverberating and multiplying in unique ways. So, smile at a stranger, open the door for someone, pay for the coffee order behind you. And since this energy is about both giving and receiving. The bonus is that goodness will meander its way back to you.

*Magician – During the next two weeks the Muse of Manifestation would like to work with you. This Muse reminds you that at this time you have all the tools you need; however you have two challenges. One you will need to investigate new ways of using them. And secondly focus, she advises that during these trials that you are clear on the why behind this manifestation. The artist, singer and inventor this week is Margaret Watts Hughes. Hughes invented a device, the eidophone (from the Greek eido-to see and phone- voice/sound). She found that with this device and powder, seeds or sand, she could see the geometrics of her voice and the notes themselves to create shapes. Hughes called these voice-figures or voice flowers. She then used colored glycerin on a glass plate. And from that she sang the above and below pictures into existence.

Your pondering: How lucky we are to be in a time when sound is recorded. We can listen to a song or someone’s voice without the confines time. But I often wonder because we can hear it again, do we lose the preciousness of it when it is happening the first time. What would it have been like to hear a song only once?

Solar System highlights

The moon begins this week in Scorpio – follow your passion. Then on Tuesday it moves into Sagittarius – go exploring. On Thursday it moves into Capricorn – use this energy to get things. Happy Birth-month Gemini!

The artist this week is Mother Nature again. Yes, I highlighted her work a month ago but….

Every morning, I take a walk around our acre and see what is new in the yard. It is spring here. The leaves are my favorite color, lime green and the flowers are popping.

As I walk, I watch where my mom’s dog, Patsy, nose points. I wonder what animal traces she is smelling that have traversed across the lawn overnight. This past Monday Patsy was interested in a very specific spot in the woods. And as I searched the landscape for the typical chipmunks or squirrels out popped 3 little baby fox heads! As you all may know, one of my last names is Fox, hence the fox and the tarot. Anyway, this event has made my week, so I thought I would share.

The pic above is one of the babies, a red fox, vulpes vulpes. Red foxes are the most common of the 27 fox species in the world. “Foxes are small-to-medium-sized omnivorous mammals belonging to several genera of the family Canidae. They have a flattened skull; upright, triangular ears; a pointed, slightly upturned snout; and a long, bushy tail (“brush”).

Twelve species belong to the monophyletic “true fox” group of genus Vulpes. Approximately another 25 current or extinct species are always or sometimes called foxes; these foxes are either part of the paraphyletic group of the South American foxes, or of the outlying group, which consists of the bat-eared fox, gray fox, and island fox.”^[1]

In the mythology and literature that surround foxes, they are often tricksters. I, however, favor the Japanese tales of the kitsune. Stories that portrays them as messengers of the gods and good luck.

Happy birth month Taurus!

The artists this week are the winners of the World Nature Photography Awards. Every year around Earth Day I highlight nature photography awards winners. In the past the only way for people to see animals and plants from other places was museums and illustrations. Now with photography we can get a literal birds-eye view of our world. And the more we can see the world the more we can understand it and then protect it. As Chief Dan George of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation said: “If you talk to the animals, they will talk with you and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them, you will not know them and what you do not know, you will fear. What one fears, one destroys.” So go out, get close to the flora and fauna and do some of your own nature photography.

Your pondering for this week: “We must protect the forests for our children, grandchildren, and children yet to be born.
