Tarot and Artcast for March 1-7, 2026

The artist this week is Sybil Andrews. Andrews was not only an artist, printmaker, painter, teacher but also a welder in both World Wars and a boat builder later in life. She is best known for her modernist linocuts.

Solar System highlights for the next two weeks

We have a lunar Eclipse in Virgo on March 3^rd. For those of you that have a sun or moon in Virgo it would be good to lay low around that time if you can. For those with nodes in Virgo or Pisces look for informational downloads around your future and letting go of what no longer works for you.

We are also still in our first retrograde of 2026 until March 20^th with Mercury in Pisces and which will go direct in Pisces until April 14^th. Hi All,

The artist this week is Hiroshi Sugimoto. Sugimoto is a photographer and architect. In his art he experiments with the science of photography, light, shadow and darkness. By using extremely long exposures he plays with the concept of time and timelessness and thus plays with our eye’s sense of reality.

On a side note: There is a fascinating video of a conversation with Sugimoto and his printer which shows the interdependence and collaboration of artists.

The inner planets, Earth, Mercury, Venus, and Mars are all moving into Aquarius time to innovate areas in your personal life. Upgrade.

Hi All,

Due to my surgery and my annual soul retreat during Winter Solstice to the New Year, this is the last forecast until the first week in January. This cast I am asking the muses to give you a word or saying to ponder on the lessons, challenges and warnings to wrap up 2025 and begin 2026.

Also, I just want to express how grateful I am for you all walking with me through my exploration of art and tarot. I wish you all great joy and happiness as we finish off 2025 and begin our journey into 2026. See you in January 2026.

Solar System highlights

Mercury is back in Sagittarius until the end of the year – chatty Cathy is in the house. Mars also moves into Capricorn on December 15^th – great to tie up loose ends and plan for new beginnings. Venus is in Sagittarius until December 24^th – wanting us to be curious and then moves into Capricorn where we focus on making beauty more tangible in our lives.

Lastly, Saturn is back in Piscis until February of 2026. So, we are back to our structures having trouble being…well… structured. And I am sending out extra feel-good vibes for you all with a Saturn in Aries or Pisces and are dealing with this erratic Saturn return.

Tarot and Artcast for Nov 2 -15

Hi All,

So, the beginning of the tarotcast will be a bit different – some news and changes. First, I am going to have surgery mid-November and I am not sure how the tarotcast is going to fit in. But I will try to get another 1 or 2 in before Winter Solstice.

Second, ten years ago, I started doing this tarotcast blog. At first it was just each sign’s tarot forecast for the week. I have always believed that science and art are two arms that help us figure out our place in the universe. And if I found something interesting, I would write about that. But then the cast quickly morphed into smatterings of science and a larger focus on art by fringe groups not equally represented in the Big A art scene.

The other aspect of doing this was my pondering: is casting tarot statistically significant? Statistically significant means a result is not likely to have occurred by random chance alone; it suggests a real underlying effect or difference, i.e. can woo be tracked. So, I kept excel sheets collecting data points from the tarotcast’s cards that each sign got throughout the ten years.

Each year I looked at the data in two ways, how many times each card was pulled (for anomalies) and what the actual cards were for each sign (trends). You can see the individual years in review for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.

Over the course of ten years, I have pulled the cards over 6,000 times, putting the drawn card back into the mix after each pull for a zodiac sign. And after looking at the data, I feel like pulling the cards isn’t a random act. Let me just say, what I did may not be fool-proof and some statisticians would say I would need way more data points or possible because my shuffling wasn’t random enough, etc.…, but that aside I still find the this process interesting. And now to look at the data for the past 10 years.

The Data

There are 78 cards in a tarot deck. The average amount of times I pulled a card in this 10 year period was 70, the median was 69 and the standard deviation was 10. So, the 78 card possibilities fall within of the average + or – deviation. However, there were 24 anomalies, that would be individual tarot cards pulled less than 60 or above 80 pulls.

The 3 highest cards pulled above the average are: Eight of Wands – 99 times, Ace of Swords – 97 times, Fool- 90 times. The 3 lowest are: Wheel – 48 times, 6 of cups- 51 times, nine of cups- 52 times. I find it interesting that the 2 higher arcane cards are The Fool- the journey, foolishness and wisdom and the Wheel – chance. And the most pulled lower arcane cards are 8 of wands – information, and Ace of Swords- new ways to think. The lowest being 6 of cups – past/children and 9 of cups – satisfaction/nonsatisfaction.

So, with that – take what works for you and leave the rest behind.

My pondering

Now that I have completed my challenge I am rethinking how I want to go forward with this tarotcast as of 2026. And I would love your input to help me figure out what is next. I still love finding artists, pondering and pulling cards. But I am iffy about the solar system part. I am not sure which social media site to continue with. Or the frequency/maybe break it up or make it shorter and more frequent…. And most importantly I want to expand what I read with (non-standard tarot, oracle cards and playing around with new types of divination tools) to keep things fresh and help with my exploration of my 108 project. So please write me back if you have input. ……….Or not and enjoy the ride ; ).

Two of Pentacles – The Muse of Balance comes when you need to look at if your play to work ratio is balanced. Maybe you are working too hard or procrastinating too much on social media. *Evolution – The Muse of Uplift comes when you are feeling limited and need to work on a transformation. This can be as simple as eating better, studying/practicing a philosophy that you have been interested in or moving your furniture around. Or it can be as complex as devoting your life to a new cause or moving to another country. Overall, this work should level you up in some way.

Leo

*Tower – Now is the time to look at your foundations and make sure they are supporting you. This might be complicated that you may need to deconstruct before you begin fixing or it can be a simple application of metaphorical spackle. The key is seeing what isn’t working, creating and then implementing a plan to make sure your structures/resources/relationships are supporting what you need. If you go for the spackle route, just remember that this is a quick fix while you do the planning for the major reconstruction.

Virgo

*Divine Feminine – The Divine Feminine is calling on you to do some deep pondering on creativity and sensuality. She first asks, “how do you define a good life? Does it include space for you to create without goals? How do you care for yourself and those around you? If you find it is too reliant on the material this is a time to rebalance it with your heart’s objectives.

Libra

Spirit of Earth – The Muse of Sensuality is hanging with you for this Scorpio season. She comes when you need to reconnect with your five senses. She suggests consciously indulging in at least one of your senses each day. Let chocolate linger on your tongue. Relax your ears into a melody. Get or give a massage. Feast your eyes on some art or nature. Cook something so delightful that its scent pulls people to your kitchen.

Scorpio

Nine of Trees – Use these coming weeks to finish up projects and get things tidied up for the coming season. This is not the best time to start new projects. The muses would like you to get as much off your plate, so you can enjoy some rest and relaxation before 2026 starts. Keep on keeping on.

Sagittarius

Five of Water – The Muse of Silver Lining’s is your companion for the coming weeks. She usually shows up when you are focusing too much on what isn’t working instead of seeing what is and working with that to take your next steps. Mistakes are vital in the learning process, but now is the time to leave them behind and move on.

Capricorn

Spirit of Fire – The Spirit of Fire would like you to spend time creating, growing, sprouting and wilding. She suggests less goals and more exploring your passions for just the heck of it. She asks you to play with what powers your motivation. Explore what excites you.

Aquarius

Eight of Fire – The Muse of Messages comes when you have possible overloads of information are coming at you. She suggests a few ways to deal with the onslaught and still reap its benefits. One possible way is to just focus on a couple of aspects you need answers to. The other is acknowledging everything without distilling any of the information. Let it wash over you and see what sticks. Either way you will get some needed information for the coming months.

Pisces

*Tower – The Muse of Deconstruction comes when aspect of your life is not working, and you need to tear it back to the foundation of why you started this construction in the first place. You can no longer metaphorically spackle the cracks. The key is seeing what isn’t working, creating and then implementing a plan to create new structures and resources to construct a better building.

Tarot and Artcast for Sept 14-27

The artist highlighted for this Artcast is Kirsty Elson @kirstyelson. Elson is a found object sculptor and specifically with driftwood artist. I picked her this week because I needed some whimsy and calm. She originally started making seaside townscapes and has now moved to more whimsical animals. As she says, “I’m thoroughly enjoying this new path, as I can be even more playful and inject some humor into my work which I think is a nice distraction in these troubled times.” I also highly recommend watching a beautiful documentary short, Seawood about her, the ocean and her work.

Your pondering: Her mother said, “she was a bit like a magpie, collecting things”. We all collect things around us. What do your collections say about your emotional needs? Calm? Whimsical? Colorful?

Solar System highlights

We start the week with the moon in Cancer – self-care is the focus. On Wednesday it shifts into Leo – and we shift from inner to outer shine. Saturday the moon is in Virgo and there is a new moon on Sunday – time to organize. Monday September 22^nd the moon moves into Libra – relationships are the focus. Then Wednesday September 24^th it shifts to Scorpio – put time into what makes you zing. Then we begin the weekend with the moon in Sagittarius – go exploring.

Mercury is in Virgo until September 19^th having us make our communication more efficient and clearer. Then it moves into Libra where this energy is best used to work on balancing equalizing listening and speaking.

Mars is Scorpio until November 4^th. This aspect is a perfect time to work on our passion projects. Venus is in Leo until September 19^th, amplifying all parts of Love in your life. Just watch that you don’t get too dramatic especially in your personal relationships. Bath in Love without the cling. Then Venus moves into Virgo where working on making your environment welcoming becomes the focus.

The artist highlighted for this Artcast is Jennifer Packer. On the surface one would say, Packer paints portraits and flowers, but how she portrays her images makes the viewer feel more by seeing less. This is embodied in one of her idioms: “I think about images that resist, that attempt to retain their secrets or maintain their composure, that put you to work…” What I love about Packer’s work is her ability to convey more with less. That her portrait can be almost monochromatic, but we walk away with a connection with the person being portrayed. Or perhaps it is the feeling of Packer’s perception about that person’s aura. Either way it is the connection that becomes the centerpieces of her work.

Your pondering: Packer said about her exhibition “Every Shut Eye Ain’t Asleep” at MOCA LA “I hope to make works that suggest how dynamic and complex our lives and relationships are.” On our path of learning how to human we must remember that most of our experiences with others are just glimpses into their life. That fellow commuter may be asleep or maybe just trying to keep the world out so they can keep their feelings in. Ultimately, we need to remember that all the people we meet have stories behind them, all unique but also all dealing with the same range of human emotions. We should never take for granted or overlook that that person across from us – you don’t know them intimately – what they have dealt with – but you have felt what they have felt at some point. One of the great human paradoxes is that we are all unique and the same.

Solar System highlights

We start the week with the moon in Sagittarius – great for exploring but hard to get work moving. On Tuesday the moon moves into Capricorn – now work week begin. Thursday it is in Aquarius– great for innovation and outside of the box thinking. And on Sunday September 7^th we have a full moon in Pisces – this is a dreamy full moon good for creativity. The artist highlighted for this Artcast is Carla Accardi. Accardi is one of the major figures of Italian formalism. One of the hallmarks of formalist art theory is the idea that the work of art should be experienced in itself, and not in relation to anything else. Her calligraphic abstractions and artistic explorations utilize the hybridization of geometric and gestural painting. Accardi used both traditional canvas as well as a material called Sicofoil (a transparent plastic) to produce her paintings. Thus having the viewer more clearly see the paint and the gestures of the painter.

Your pondering: Where do you box in your talents? We often try to put science and art into separate and often opposing categories. Being misled by the saying of left versus right brained people. New research using brain scans of mathematicians and artists while they are working has demonstrated that both sides of the brain work in tandem during creative and quantitative tasks alike. As Accardi says about her inspirations for painting: “I was following two approaches: one focused on a scientific biological perspective, with growing and shrinking amoebas. The other approach was more geometric, with work that was sharper…”

Solar System highlights

We start the week with the moon in Gemini – the focus is communication. On Tuesday the moon moves into Cancer – self-care is top priority. On Thursday it is in Leo – your time to shine. It then moves into Virgo on Saturday which is also a new moon – great to start organizing or cleaning projects. Then Tuesday August 26^th the moon is in Libra – focus on relationships and balance. And we finish the two weeks with the moon in Scorpio on Thursday August 28^th– explore your passions.

Mercury is still in Leo until September 3^rd, but no longer retrograde. Finishing off our 11-week crash course in expressing ourselves with the caveat that we don’t shade others’ shine while we spread our own light. Mars is Libra until the 23^rd, having us work on collaboration and cooperation. Venus is in Cancer when cuddling and beauty rest become the precedent. Not to mention it is hanging with Jupiter, the planet of abundance so doubling the goodness for both planets.

Jupiter, the planet of abundance and growth, is in Cancer until June 2026. This placement is exalted, because Cancer boosts Jupiter’s positive aspects and vice versa. Jupiter creates more ease in our emotional growth, intuition, feeling nurtured as well as giving it. However, the two-fold challenge is that growth needs time to cultivate and may bring growing pains. So be kind and patient with others and yourself as we grow into our abundance. Saturn is in Aries until September 1^st for its first round of pumping up the energy levels. This aspect is about calibrating how you burn your “candle”, so that you don’t burn out while everything is on the move around us.
