Happy Birthday Month Aries!

Fiction – Aries’ ram is associated with the Greek myth of the golden fleece. King Artharnas who married the cloud nymph, Nephele, had two children, Phrixus and Helle. He divorced her to marry Ino Queen of Thebes. Ino not liking her step children plotted to kill them. She devised a plot. First, she roasted the wheat seeds so they wouldn’t grow. And then bribe the messengers of the Oracle to lie and tell Arthanas that he had to sacrifice his son, Phrixus, on mountain to make the crops fertile again. To save her children Nephele sent down a golden ram with wings to take her children to safety in Colchis. After his sister falls off the ram into the sea, Phrixus reaches Colchis and sacrifices the ram to Zeus. He then gives the fleece to King Aeetes (the Jason and Argonauts myth continues on with the fleece). To honor the ram heroics, Nephele placed the image of it among the stars. This all sounds very similar to the Bible and Quran story of Abraham having to sacrifice one of his sons on a mountain top and an Angel comes down and provides him a ram to substitute for the sacrifice. Who plagiarized who is still in debate.

Fact- Since the time of the Babylonians, The Ram in the sky has been identified as the beginning of the Vernal Equinox. However, because of the axial precession (the wobble of the earth axis around it’s poles) the tail-end of Pisces’ constellation now shows up on the Vernal Equinox and in the year of 2600 Aquarius constellation will lead us into spring. It will take approximately 20,000 more years (it takes 26,000 for full cycle) for Aries to lead us into spring again, but the ram will always symbolize the coming of spring and the beginning of the astrological cycle.

P.S. Remember signs that have * it’s a big week for you.

Aries – Ace of Swords – Ace of Swords is perfect card for your birth month. Last week you were slowly and methodically – experimenting, balancing and weighing out new things to fit into your new life. Now after your experimentation you have some new ideas. The Ace of Swords is challenging you this week to spend time thinking, analyzing and/or strategizing around these new ideas to proceed into your new future.

Taurus – Queen of Cups – Another week of balancing work and play into your life. The Queen of Cups is challenge you this week to find the joy in your life. And since this is a court card look to the people you have around you for inspiration. Each one of them has a little present of happiness to give you, so open your heart and receive the bounty.

Gemini – Queen of Swords – This week the Queen of Swords is here to help you clean out the mental clutter and do some solid thinking. The past three weeks have brought some things to light that you need to ponder on. The Queen of Swords challenges you to use logic and truth to de-clutter.

*Cancer – Temperance – The last three weeks you have been gathering information and processing it. Temperance has come in this week to ask you how can you create more harmony and balance in your life with this new information? Now here is the interesting thing about Temperance when it appears sometime it’s means patience. So even though this information you have feels pressing it is actually not time to jump. The image of this card is an angel pouring a liquid from one cup to another and back again. That is what you have to do this week slowly pour your thoughts from your subconscious to your conscious and back again. This will help you integrate what you have learned last month.

Leo – Ten Of Pentacles – Last week hopefully you balanced fantasizing and work.. This week the Ten of Pentacles is challenge you to finish up some projects that have been hanging out on your to do list. Prioritize them by what has been on your list the longest gets done first.

Virgo – Ten of Cups – This week you all got the Ten of Cups which means see all the beautiful things in your life and be grateful for them. You have a lot of love in your life. Love has been coming to you in many small packages and a few big ones. However, the challenge from the Ten of Cups is to look at your expectations around love you have. Are you being realistic or do you have some fairytale expectations? If you can trim your expectations, you can bask in all the love you realistically have.

Libra – Ten of Wands – Did you widen your circle of love last week? This week the Ten of Wands is giving you a heads up that you will be very busy this week and you might take on more than you should. The Ten of Wand’s challenge is learning when to say “No”. This week hone in on doing only what is necessary and leads you to your goals. You have no time or energy this week to be your usually over-giving self.

Scorpio – Five of Pentacles- Last week did you confront your issue(s) with some compassion and understanding, making it less dangerous and/or frightening to you? I hope so because the Five of Pentacles is here to challenge your resolve. This week you will be confronting a few road blocks around that issue(s). You now have the Strength to tame your fear instinct and confront the problem(s) directly or side step it without guilt.

Sagittarius – Six of Cups – The Six of Cups is challenging you to spend some time looking in to your past. If you have that feeling of déjà vu or “I’ve heard/done/said this before” take a moment and think about when you have previously dealt with it. Because the past is holding out some useful insights for the conundrums you will encounter in the now.

*Capricorn – The Devil – Ah this is one of Capricorn’s card to deal with in this life time. Most people think of the Devil (both in Tarot and out) as giving into your base instincts and indulgences. However, I see him more as a Trickster aspect , especially for Cappies. All the Capricorns I know love a good joke and are pretty funny themselves. This week The Devil is still challenging you to over indulge yourself with libations and good times because “Damn you deserve it”. (You see how tricky this card is already. All the other cards challenge you to be at your best and The Devil challenges you to be at your worst but hides it in tasty fun things that have the quality “a little is good a lot will be better.”) But be honest with yourself – don’t you get more out of laughter than that fifth drink, buying more shoes, extra sex partner, or third helping of food?

Aquarius – Ace of Wands and Eight of Wands – Did you get some structures set up last week? I sure hope so because this week is a two card week. First the Ace of Wands is here ringing in new opportunities to be creative and enthusiastic. And then the Eight of Wands adds that there is bunch of new information and actions that feel like they need to be now. Here is the challenge, this week before jumping into anything new make sure you aren’t rushing into it without knowing why and is it in line with our goals.

*Pisces – Justice – This has been a big month for you all which really makes sense since it’s the beginning of your new birth year. First The World invited you to see all your possibilities with open eyes and heart (the good). Then The Moon had you look at your fears around this transition (the bad). The work around Justice is to grasp the results of your actions that got you to your present and see all the connections that contributed to where you are at (the beautiful-ugly). The wonderful thing is all that work you did with The Moon and The World the weeks before, you can now move forward with honesty, integrity, and without harsh judgment.

May light be on you, light around you, and light within you,

Nina
