It is my favorite month for spooky inspired artists. The artist this week is Sara Torgison @saratorgison. I couldn’t find much about her, but I love her art. Not only for her superb ceramic work but how she literally knits it together. She creates pieces that show the paradox of connection, the need for it and how it can hold us in that connection for good or bad. She is self-declared “Teaching-Arting -Keeping it Weird” and looking through her post “weird” is a word she uses often.
The definition of weird as an adjective is “suggesting something supernatural; uncanny. The archaic use of it as a noun was “a person’s destiny.” And the verb informal North American definition is “induce a sense of disbelief or alienation in someone”. The interesting thing about Torgison’s work is that it does all there. So, we could say her weird art is an exploration of the supernatural weaving of destiny that also brings to light our own alienation.
Your pondering for this week: What is your weird? (use any definition or all three to ponder)
Solar System highlights
The moon begins in Leo – create some shine. On Tuesday it moves into Virgo – great for staying focused and organized. On Friday, the moon moves into Libra – balance and relationships become the focus. And on Saturday we have a new moon and the start of eclipse season which ends on Oct 28th.
The planets are on the move. Mercury (communication and knowledge) is in Libra until Oct 22nd. Where the lessons are on finding the balance of listening as well as communicating clearly. Mars (action) moves into Scorpio (passion) on Oct 12th. Wanting us to make sure your actions are supporting the expression of your passion. While Venus (beauty and harmony) just moved into Virgo (organization) and stays until November 8th. So now we move from contemplating that our outward expression harmonizes with what is within to now applying it into our life. This week is prime time to start to make changes happen. You will have all of October to catch this wave.
The outer planets until the end of the year and into next are having us work on nurturing the pleasures in our lives, be aware of dipping into overindulgence, making our structures elastic and responsive to change, and lastly looking back to 2008 to see if any lose ends need to be tied up especially around the house and planets that sit in your natal Capricorn.
***Signs with an * it is a big week for you. Libra, this is a perfect time to get a Astrological Tarot Reading for your coming year. And Aries, it is your halfway mark for your birth year, so if you need a Planetary Reading for a check in now is the time. And I have a tip jar if you want to leave a gratuity for the weekly forecasts.
May light be on you, around you, and within you.
Nina
Aries

Two of Air– Last two weeks have prepared you for this week. First the Muse of Possibilities asked you to broaden your horizons. Then Muse of Intention asked you with this expanded space what are your intentions? And now the Muse of Decisions is asking you to pick a path. She reminds you to follow the path that is more attune with your heart than with logic.
Taurus

*Fool – The Muses of the Wanderer would like you to refresh your perspective by exploring new paths. This can be as simple as taking a new route home, trying new kinds of food, or as complicated as trying on a new career. The key is broadening and exploring your environment and therefore your experiences.
Gemini

Four of Earth – Resources are limited this week. So, the Muse of Savings would like you to be thrifty in the areas of money, space, or time. She would like you to bank some of these material commodities, so you can spend them with more leisure later this month.
Cancerian

Two of Fire – The Muse of Horizons would like you to do some future gazing. What would you like to explore in the coming months? What challenges or goals would you like to set for yourself? If stuck, the muse suggests things like spending time on the Discovery channel or surfing places to travel for inspiration.
Leo

Four of Air – Last week you need to save your materiel resources, this week the Muse of Restoration would like you to bank some physical and mental rest. She advises to spend time off technology, and just sit in silence. Also, she suggests a series, if possible, of good night’s rest.
Virgo

Ten of Fire – Virgo you have once again taken on more than you should. The Muse of Burdens advises you to list your obligations and scratch off the last two. By next week they will either be no longer a priority, someone else took it on or they weigh less in a week’s time.
Libra

*Wheel – The Muse of Fortune heralds the time for change. Since this is also your birth month, a new moon and an eclipse in your sign, it seems now is the time to make your move. The interesting thing with this energy is even if this change feels right or rough this change is needed to unlock a brighter future.
Scorpio

Knight of Air – Muse of Rushing is advising you to slow down this week. Watch getting pulled into situations or conversations that have potential of requiring a heroine/hero. This week take the slow road and the metaphorical back seat. And if you must act, watch and listen before you charge ahead.
Sagittarius

Three of Air – The Muse of Sorrows comes when aspects of this week can trigger old wounds. She reminds you these twinges are not about reliving the hurt but to find ways to do a deeper healing.
Capricorn

*Sun – The Muse of Shine would like you to shine the spotlight on others. Yes, this week the muses would like you to take a back seat and be the cheerleader instead of the leader. It’s not that you need to be more humble or less efficient, it is just that you will be in a better light and less stressed if you help others do their thing.
Aquarius

Knight of Wands – You are in the right place at the right time all this week. The muses have some info for you, so they are placing you in the right places at the right time to hear and see these informational tidbits. Now they do not guarantee that it will be all roses, but the thorns have data to download too. Just remember you don’t have to act on any of it now.
Pisces

Four of Water – The Muse of Introspection is here but you need to watch falling into the waves of languor and self-doubt while doing this deep dive into emotions. She reminds you, if you find yourself too far in your emotional bellybutton, to go hang with someone else or at the very least watch/read a good story to take you out of yours.

Two of Wands – You are in the land of in between. Caught between the past and the future. To use this energy, it is about being very present. Seeing each moment for the preciousness bit of life it is.
Three of Swords – Last week the energy was used hopefully in finding the pearls in your world. However, the challenge was in answering: Are you flexible enough to know when to let it go if it isn’t working or allowing it to evolve into an unknown ending? This week the energy has shifted to heart break. You are feeling the World’s pain and having a hard time figuring out what to do with it. If you met last week’s challenge (re-read the first two lines) finding flexibility and letting go, then you realize evolution and healing are done in small steps and they start within. So, this week has a lot of heart work in yourself and in your world. Don’t force it. Feel and tend the way to rebuilding.
Eight of Wands – Movement is the energy you need this week. Get out of the house if you can, ride a bike, walk, turn the music up and dance, play an instrument, paint with big broad stroke, etc…. You are holding in energy and it needs to get out, or you will sink more into lethargy and/or nervousness. This week let your body move, so your soul can soar.
Page of Wands – This week has aimless energy. You are feeling the world’s energy and it is painful. This brings on setbacks which lead to procrastination. First, realize that the majority of people are or have felt this energy in the past couple of months, and so can you. Then to get you out of the morass go into your shell and dive into your imagination. Find things on the web, TV, books, art, nature, etc… that let you have a bit of escapism but it must also tap into your sense of wonderment. You need to recharge, and childlike wonder and curiosity are a great ways to get there.
*Hierophant – This week energy is around structures. Now is the time for you to break them down. You need more freedom and a bit of rebellion to do it. What structure in your life just isn’t working? Look to the physical plane first. It could be when you go to bed, when you wake up, where you work, how you work, how you let people step on you… By deconstructing the structures on the material plane, you will give your spiritual self the space and freedom to rebuild.
Queen of Wands – You are creative, courageous and fierce. Now your challenge is to believe it. Release your self-doubt and go get what you want.
Eight of Swords– Self-acceptance is the key to this week. Allow yourself the ability to have foibles – we all do. The key is accepting these perceived quirks and converting them to your superpowers. Be compassionate with your heroine/hero character you are creating and ignore what others perceive it to be. Then re-write your narrative.
*World – Another high energy week for you. Last week the energy overloaded and unbalanced you, so emotional outbursts were necessary to vent and recalibrate. The key was purposely vent before the pressure made you burst. Hopefully, you got that out of your system, for this week you are called into the World. There is a mass of opportunities for you to try out this week, but you need a sense of completion to move on. Your challenge is to finish the old to make way for the new by the end of the week.
*Beyond – Last week, the energy asked you to spotlight your focus on things you want to do – not things you had to do. The energy this week adds to that force of optimal growth by opening portals to the soul. Take this week to meditate, be philosophic, find some awe, and dream day and night. Your higher being is asking for some face time with you. Time to listen and do some persona Socratic Q&A.
Four of Coins & Five of Wands – The last two weeks’ energies have you now moving with a more natural pace, in a more comfortable place, and your mind has disseminated and cleansed the what ifs scenarios. For with that skill set you can navigate this week’s two-sided energies. One side is chaos and drama and the other stability. Though the former might have you feeling too conservative or greedy with your resources. So the challenge this week is fine tuning your skills at healthy boundary making, so chaos can happen but in a safer play-pen arena.
Three of Cups and Emperor – The month of May was full of big energy. It started with summoning you to take control over your destiny by showing up. Then you dealt with the concepts of refinement, the grey areas of fairness and harmony and final, self-determining change. So now you are given a choice of paths. You can continue the high energy ride with the Emperor. This energy is about manifesting things on the material plane. It is a great time for all things around business and culture. Or you can take the second route, having fun with friends and filling up your emotional cups. Hopefully, you can do both, but don’t be surprised if one the roads whisks you away.
*Strength – The energy that surrounds you and is within you is fortitude. You have a deep well of reserve energy which, though you have been dipping into a lot, the universe is also refilling. So, if you are having self-doubt, know you are supported by the cosmos not as a crutch but as a comfy blanket when you need it. Your task is realizing you can call on your power at any moment needed or not.
Eight of Coins– This week is all about work. You got skills and you need to use them. So, now is the time to get things done. The challenge is being humble enough to know you always have something more to learn
Two of Cups – It is all about partnerships this week. This time holds possibilities of unity and connection, but if emotions are not attended to, it can also hold tension and disharmony. Be aware it takes two to tango or waltz. One can lead but the other must agree to follow.
Ten of Cups – This week’s energy is around family bliss. Spend these coming days cultivating harmony and happiness. Find ways to enjoy the company of others, whether that is with a web wine meet up or a virtual game of cards. Companionship is key this week.
*Star – Last week’s energy is about bring the divine down into practical applications. Using your resourcefulness and skills to create action. Now the card of healing joins the mix. For last week’s energy was a mix bag of actions. This week you can step back and see why your creative fires did not light or burn as brightly as you intended. Do not be discouraged. This is part of the process of action you need to learn before your new birth year starts. Understanding and mending is needed as much as action to create a healthier future.
Eight of Swords – Ok week two of moody thoughts and feelings surrounding you. The key to this week’s feeling of being trapped is again around self-acceptance. You are allowed to have feelings, but overthinking those feelings is where the trap gets triggered. Take this time to discern and disengage from the entwinement of your heart and your mind.
*Empress – Creativity is calling to you. But something is holding you back. This week find out how to mother and not smother that creativity. It is natural for you to nurture others but when it comes to yourself you stop. Why? Let loose of the structure and cultivate organic expression.
Ace of Wands – Last week’s energy was about creating new beginnings if you are not reckless or naïve in its undertaking. The energy continues this week. However, so does the energy of distraction. Why are you hesitating on moving to the next level, beginning a new project, or just being creative without any goals? Again, the key and conundrum is around planning. You do have to plan the whole project. This energy is about taking one step at a time and enjoying the process hopefully as much as or more than the result.
Knight of Swords – You are unstoppable this week, and that has two potential outcomes. Either you can impulsively rush in without thinking and either bruise yourself or another. Or you can swoop in with heroic and selfless actions and save the day. The key is thinking before you act.
Four of Coins – Conservation is the energy you will need to work with this week. Your resources are limited, so use them wisely. This isn’t about being miserly but being frugal. Frugal in the sense of simplifying and focusing your energy, within the context of what you feed grows.
Ace of Swords – The energy this week is about breakthroughs. There is clarity in the air which brings new ideas and thoughts into your mix. The challenge is deciding either surfing the chaos like a Zen wave rider or diving into the depths letting the waves roll above the contemplative stillness you have found. The choice is yours.
*Temperance – Last week, it was time to take a bit of control over your destiny by just showing up. The high energy continues this week but with less of a roller coaster feel. This energy asks you what is your purpose? The keys to finding these answers is patience and balance. Your life is complex, so balancing out different aspects and aspirations is important to moving forward in the year to come. Think of your life like a refined meal that has many notes to balance its tastes into a delectable dining experience.
Two of Swords – Decision making time. There is a stalemate that is about to happen but just being decisive about what you want and how you want to feel will avoid later confusion. Do not avoid what you know needs to be done.
Eight of Coins – The last three weeks you have been running with some high universe energy. The Wheel of Fortune having you trying to change your fortune. The Hermit advising pulling away from civilization and using this solitude creating, experimenting, and philosophizing. Then the Empress advising you to put that energy into a new concept/idea that will come to term in about 9 to 10 months. Luckily, you have the Eight of Coins this week to continue this process of materializing aspects of this project. The big hint is you already have all the skills that are needed. This week is just about honing those skills.
Ace of Swords – This week’s energy is about making decisions and changing mindsets to a clearer and possible new direction path. This is a great week to plan, learn, think, and communicate. The key is finding new ways of thought and communication to help clear your path.
King of Cups – The last two weeks have had you running some high energy. With the World card presenting a variety of opportunities and new beginnings. Then the Sun card focusing appropriate energies on these new areas that you have chosen. This week slows down with the King of Cups. This King asks you to work with your emotions. Practicing not only how to emote your emotions without harming others, but also accepting any emotions that come up. Vulnerability is the key to courage this week.
*Devil – Where last week was innocence this week takes on darker elements. The Devil card shows up testing you on what you stand for. Think of the trials this week as your final exams. You have learned you lessons now can you practice them? This can look as simple as you preach or complain about people being late and you end up three hours late to work. Or as complex as you lying to someone dear to you, so they don’t get hurt. This week practice what you preach. Stand in your morals do not let the outside world influence what you know to be best.
Six of Coins – The Six of Coin foretells this week is all about mini occurrences of karma. The more positive you put out in the world the more positive you get back. Of course, this works for negative energies too. The challenge is this karma takes convoluted routes and has its own timing.
*Death – The Death card shows up when something in your life needs to die off so something else can grow in its place. The great thing is the universe will be helping you make this transition. The challenge is you will have to put some energy in weeding the old and seeding the new, but the universe will help with the growth.
*High Priestess – Ok you get another karmic card to work with the coming year. Last week, the Hierophant declared that 2020 is the year to create or shore up your structures and institutions. The challenge will be dealing with self-judgment and possible judgement of others. Next year it will be vital for you to be flexible, compassionate and empathetic, so that the structures you create don’t bind but bend. Now, you can add the feminine version of the Hierophant- the High Priestess. This card suggests that working with the big picture, questions of purpose, knowledge, and spirit will also be important in 2020. This will help with your challenges from the Hierophant card. The challenge with the Priestess is finding time and space to ponder these big questions. Retreats will be as necessary as creating your civilization in the coming year.
Knight of Swords – Last week, The Fool suggested letting loose and be a more carefree. Challenging you to find new places to visit, encounter new people, roam byways less traveled. I.e. Answering the call of the wild, the mystery of the unknown… This week continues this theme of discovery BUT the Knight of Swords warns you to slow your roll and be more careful while exploring. Your warning is not to be the fool running in where angels fear to tread. Side note: always with this card I caution to be careful with your appendages.
Six of Swords –The important energy this week is simplification. Working smarter – not harder is the theme. Also, when this card shows up its always a good time to take small trips or find time to hang out around or in water to clear your mind.
Ten of Coins – Your second ten card in a row, so let’s dive into the meaning of tens. Tens are about the completion of cycles but also being in that completion. Last week, the Ten of Cups ask you to literally count your blessings, noticing and feeling your blisses that you have created. Now the Ten of Coins has you completing physical tasks. This can be cleaning out your inbox or getting ten things crossed of your to-do list. The challenge is that you will need to work but you will need equal time to relax. Motto: All work and no play – makes Jill/Jack a dull person.
Five of Swords – The Five of Swords warns this can be a week of tension especially around conversations and thoughts. This is not a good week to get into heavy discussions for they can easily turn into battles. The best way to work with this energy is to turn up your empathy knobs. Standing in others shoes this week can lower the conflict thresholds.
Eight of Swords – Last week the Chariot told you to take the reins. That the path that you are on is correct and you have the power to complete all that you need to do. This week the Eight of Swords can put a halt to your momentum. But just like the Chariot this stop is also in your hands. The challenge is not to be bound to the outcome of this week or the road to get to your destination. Flexibility is key.
Ace of Swords – Decisions and knowledge are on the forefront this week. The Ace of Swords advises a new way of thought is needed to overcome a problem or find a solution. Think outside the box this week.
*Tower – Ok Gemini, the Tower is your first birth year card. What a way to shake up the new year. The Tower is one of the three cards of change. This year the first lesson with this card is you need to do some major renovating in your life. If you don’t know what it is or how to make the change happen, the Tower card comes to shake things up and makes it obvious what needs to be deconstructed and reconstructed. Examples are moving out of a space, job or relationship that doesn’t work for you, or doing a major overhaul of your health regime. The theme this year is take control of the change yourself or the Universe will change it for you.
Page of Cups – The Page of Cups is the card of love and joy. This week find and do simple things that make you smile. Simple acts of kindness to yourself and others is just the cure for your heart and the world around you. Think like a puppy, kitten or 3-year old.
Ten of Pentacles – Last week it was all about beginnings. This week is all about wrapping things up on the material plane. The Ten of Pentacles advises that your prioritiey this week is to tie up loss ends at your work. And then when you get home luxuriate in that feeling of accomplishment. This has challenges around work/life balance. Your motto all work and no play makes Jill or Jack an unhappy person.
*Star – Last week was hard with the Ten of Swords, but the Star has arrived advising you in a big way to rest and heal this week. The Star is the card of healing after the storm. It doesn’t come often so take advantage and do things that restore your health both mental and physical. Whether that is hermitizing with a book, fishing, taking a spa day, relaxing with friends over diner or anything that lets your nervous system rest. Take this week – relax and restore.
Queen of Wands – Intuition is the key this week. The Queen of Wands advises you to get in touch with your inner guide for you will need its guidance in the coming week. She advises that nature, the spirit or the arts will help you tap into your insight. Also be aware that with this card’s arrival solutions/avenues are found with non-linear thinking.
*Chariot – Change continues to be the theme this week with the Chariot. This card represents change that you have total control over. This is great for no outside source can ultimately stop you. However, it is also a challenge for you are the only one to make the momentum happen. This can look as simple as moving your office or living room around creating better flow, or as complex as moving yourself out of that job/space/relationship that you hate, or finally taking that step to be your own boss. Also, on the practical side of this card: Check your means of transport this week ie: check your tires, fluids, shoes, bus schedule… they can sometimes be wonky when this card shows up.
Nine of Swords – The Nine of Swords is the card of worry or overthinking. This week can bring on a variety of things to worry about. However, this card foretells that there will be only a few that you can fix. The first thing to do is discern which ones are fixable or completable and fix them. The rest write down and literally throw them away in the trash. Ultimately this is a lesson in – you don’t have control over everything nor are you responsible for it all either.
*Emperor – The Emperor is the card of doing. The biggest lesson with this card is that you have a good plan and good resources, and now is the time to manifest what you want to happen in your environment. He is the materializer. So, this week is all about the work. Your only challenge is that especially for you Capricorns does the work fulfill you? If not, then realize you are in it for the money and make the money. If it is then you are one happy camper waking up each morning doing what you have always want to do. This week MAKE.
*Strength – The Strength card comes when you need to strengthen a resolve, be more resilient, and/or support your self-worth. For some of you it can be as simple as sticking to your diet/exercise regime or for others it can be as complex as finally telling your side of the story. The paradox and complexity with this card are true strength comes form the combination of being rigorous but also with a soft application. As they say, you attract more flies with honey then vinegar, whether that is with yourself or declaring your boundaries.
Page of Wands – Last week, the Fool came advising either you will be given a choice and this choice will ripple through your future, or for others to take a leap of faith where there seems as if there is no choice. This theme of journeying and choice continues this week with the Page of Wands. This card ask you to focus on the question “what turns you on?” This journey that you are on must have components that ignite your passion. You need stimulus like a fish needs water. If you want to be productive you need to visit the waters of inspiration, and this is the week to do it.
