The hero theme has continued in my ponderings this week. I have noticed that the theme of superheroes has escalated since 2000. Let’s just look at what’s on Hulu/Netflix TV line up right now: Flash, Green Arrow, Heroes Reborn, Stitchers, Shadow Hunters, Legends of Tomorrow, Agents Of Shield, Agent Carter, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, with nine more in the works for 2016. And then the movies: Ant-man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Fantastic Four Series, The Avengers Series, Spiderman Series, X-men Series and that’s just to name a few. A friend of mine has this fun and enlightening exercise about super heroes that I would like you all to try this week. 1) Identify at least three of your super powers. 2) Give yourself a super hero name. 3) Identify what is your kryptonite. (I recommend doing this with someone. They can help you think of things. Because sometimes we don’t see our own amazingness. Also, for fun I have listed two superheroes to give you a starting point.)

Aries – Ten of Pentacles- Hope you found some solitude last week because this week is full on. This is a week to get things checked off your to do list. With the Ten of Pentacles in your court, things will get easier and easier as the week progresses. Superheroes- Wonder Woman and Superman

Taurus – Knight of Cup- The Knights means movement and Cups are emotions. So last week you had some time to use your imagination. This week experiment with and get a moving on some of those ideas…and always remember to follow your heart. Your heart will lead you down better paths this week then your head. Welcome to 2016. Last year I had some insights in to how a personal love, fairytales and myths, fit and work into my life. I have been fiddling with the concepts around the reality and myth of unicorns and narwhales. What I have learned so far is that unicorns were originally mentioned by the Greeks in their “encyclopedia” of animals as wild untamable beasts and are thought today to actually be an extinct one horned rhinoceros. No really myths were around them until later with Christianity in Europe where they became associated with virgins and purity. The Vikings took advantage of the unicorn myth and sold narwhale tusks as unicorn horns to the European aristocracy; even Queen Elizabeth had one in her Cabinet of Curiosities at court. As far as narwhales are concerned we know very little about them. Except that mostly males but some females grow their left canine tooth out of their lip and it spirals into that tusk shape. So the interesting thing is we know more about the “mythological” unicorn and less about the very really narwhale. So I challenge you this week to pick a mythological beast and a really animal and do some compare and contrast.

Aries – Three of Pentacles- With the Tower card last week, the Three of Pentacles gives you some more time to shore up your foundations and start work on what new habitats and goals you want to build in 2016. Mythological beast: Gryphon

Taurus – Eight of Rods- I hope you got some time alone last week because this week is full. The Eight of Rods is suggesting that you will be getting a lot of messages from your environment. Usually these messages will have some important information for you to use in the near future so pay attention. Mythological beast: Pegasus

Happy Julian/Gregorian Calendar New Year week everyone! I find the history of recording time fascinating. Throughout time we as humans have tried to come up with ways to standardize it. Our western calendar was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582 to help fix Easter’s drift in the Julian calendar with its correlation to the Spring Equinox. Another fun fact is that the last European country to adopt the Gregorian calendar was Greece in 1923. That took 341 years. [more or less ;)] for the western countries to get on the same page. I find that the Islamic calendar much more intuitive since it’s lunar based, and I find day light savings time irritating antiquated. But the thing I love is that recording time is still a manner of perspective.

*Aries – The Tower- So the beginning and end of your year starts with The Tower. If there was ever a time when the Tower is appropriately timed is during the week of the New Year. The Tower’s lesson is the foundations of your life, morals, are in good shape but you need to tear down the old structures that are not working for you. So this week spend some time looking at what old habits are just not working anymore and make some new year resolutions to create some new structures in your life.

Taurus – Nine of Pentacles- This week the Nine of pentacles recommends for you to spend some time alone. If you can get just an hour or two off by yourself, you will find that this will not only reset your mind from the holidays but give you some insight into your new year goals.

Get out your wishes because tonight and tomorrow is the Geminid meteor shower. It peaks tomorrow at 1-2 am. This starry display promises a slow (78,000mph) and steady light show-no telescope necessary. This meteor shower gets its name from where the streaks seem to originate in the Gemini Twins constellation. However, they are suspected to come from the debris of asteroid- 3200 Phaethon. Hope you have a great night of wishing on “falling stars” even though they are bits and pieces of orbiting comets or asteroids- Still cool!

Aries – Eight of Swords- Did you follow your intuition(star) last week instead of trying to make things happen? The Star card from last week is a big lesson card so I can see how the challenge to control everything is lingering in your tarotcast. This week your challenge is to not let your thoughts bind and limit you. The best way to learn from the eight of swords is to hone your intuition skills and follow those hints instead of logic and your head. Wish ponderings/ideas: What bad habitats do you want to get rid of?

*Taurus – The Star- The Hangman last week hopefully worked on your skills in patience and to appreciate being in the moment. The Star will start things moving again this week and definitely take advantage of the meteor shower wishing! The Star is all about the enlightenment that lights the way to a better future. Spend this week partaking in the things that inspire you and others. I will leave you to ponder one of my favorite quotes: There are two ways to spread the light. Tarotcast week of November 29, 2015

So Sagittarians how’s your birthday month going? I love this sign and have a lot of friends born under the gaze of the centaur. I love your sense of freedom and how you walk around this sphere; however this has been a heavy year for you. So half human I hope this coming spin around the sun is a bit easier.  Remember signs that have * , it’s a big week for you.

Aries– Queen of Pentacles- I love when the Queen of Pentacles comes up in a reading, because she is a woman that gets things done. This week set your mind to what you want to happen and it will happen with ease and grace. This Queen’s lesson is to not push things to happen but gentle guide things into existence. The big challenge- can you relax and guide things to happen instead of Aries’ usually way of pushing things into existence?

Taurus– Seven of Swords- This week your goal is to look around and see all the things that have worked in your favor to get you where you are today. The challenge -can you see it without shame or guilt?

Happy Birthday Scorpios. I hope you all are enjoying this time of year when you feel the warmth of the sun and the wind is crisp and exhilarating.   Remember signs that have * , it’s a big week for you.

Aries– Nine of cups- With all the newness of the past couple of weeks, this week the Nine of Cups has you feeling like something is still missing. The nine of cups tells us to look around at all that we have and be grateful. But also it tells us to identify and contemplate what you feel is missing or just not right. Because that gut feeling is not wrong, you need to find that 10th cup. The challenge is do it without losing sight of the nine cups you have already acquired.

Taurus– Ace of Pentacles- And the trend continues. So Taurus if you haven’t change or created something new in your life you have another week  Ace of Pentacles means create something new. It may not be perfect but you will learn from everything you make this week.
