The artist this week is Agnus Pelton. Pelton is part of the modernist movement known as a desert transcendentalist.  In the desert, she ultimately found the “abstract beauty of the inner vision, which would be kindled by the inspiration of these rare and solitary places.” Pelton contemporaries include George O’Keefe and Agnus Martin.  Where O’Keefe was about sensuality and Martin about nuance, Pelton takes a more spiritual approach.  She writes about her desire to seek the essence of things through her paintings – “a beauty not for the eye alone, but of a more comprehensive nature, carrying a more direct impact on our newly developing perception….” A century later her work still challenges us, offering a vision of our landscape in an iridescent transcendent form.

There will be a lot of start and go kind of energy so try not to get too frustrated my dear ram.  Now is not the time to push things through but to float down the river and use its natural current.

 

Taurus

Valley of Detachment – The muses are helping you navigate this part of the journey when times are a changing.  The uncertainty is unnerving, but it is time to detach from your surroundings and hone into working with what you love and being honest and open. Focus on what is important to you and the ones around you and let go, at least for the next two weeks, fixing the world at large.

 

Gemini

Liminality – During the next two weeks the muses suggest entering a liminal space, a in-between, a pause.  Find time to leave the day to day and sit quietly in the space of the “pause between breaths.”  This is a time to gather intel and seek messages in the quiet.  A time to attune yourself to the realm of magic, possibilities and becoming.
