Happy Summer Solstice.  The artist this week is Diane Di Bernardino Sanborn @diane.sanborn.  Sanborn is an abstract artist and teacher.  Over a year ago, I came across her in one of my deep dives into women artists on Instagram.

Sanborn often uses the Italian practice of pentimento Which translates literally to “repentance” or “changing one’s mind”. In art, it refers to the visible traces of an artist’s earlier sketches, alterations, or compositional changes hidden beneath the final layers of a painting. However, in Sanborn’s art she uses it to show “important clues for the viewer to understand my invisible world…. It is visual evidence of areas where I changed my mind, showing those alterations as important to the final work. It is just beneath the transparent surface where the viewer is given clues to my meaning.”

Solar System highlights for the next two weeks

We have a Full Moon in Capricorn on June 29^th.  A good time to update your to-do list.

And Chiron is taking its first dip into Taurus until Sept 16^th, 2026. So, we switch from lessons around understanding and healing our perceptions of our faults and weaknesses through self-compassion.  To Chiron in Taurus which marks a timeframe of focus on physical healing and bonding with the natural world.   It will retrograde back into Aries Sept 17^th – April 14^th, 2027. Then it will be back in Taurus until 2033.  Chiron’s retrograde is our last of the outer planets, once in a millennia, collusion in chaotic retrogrades within such a short span of time ie: 2 years.  Fingers crossed we are slowly leaving chaos behind.

Lovers – The Muse of Relationships is your companion for the coming two weeks.  This muse shows up when you need to evaluate your relationships, at work, home and in society.  So, pay attention to the people that show up during this time.  They are here to make you reflect on how you partner and your expectations around it.  Aspects like, is your work divvied up according to gender? And are you doing things for ease instead of equality?  Are you paying attention to how you show love?  Do you know what the other person needs are?  Are you asking for affection the way you like it?  This muse is not suggesting “tit for tat” or keeping score but working on complementing and lifting each other.

Taurus

Ten of Wands – The Muse of Burden comes when you are taking on too much.  Yes she admits you have some priorities and this is the time to focus on them.  So, she suggests making a list of what needs to be done in just the next 2-week period.  Sort them from highest to lowest priority.  Now cut the list in half.  The bottom half, put away for now and focus on the remaining top priorities.  Only when they are done can you pull out the remining part of the list. Often you will find that the bottom half of the list is no longer a priority.

Gemini

King of Pentacles – The Muse of Work comes when you need to move a project forward or move an old project from the back burner.  She reminds that you have thought about, planned, and circled this work enough.  Now is time to put things in action, experiment and see if it works on the ground.  No more thinking – just do and see what comes from that.

Cancerian

Devil – The Muse of Rebellion comes when you need to change things up.  In these coming weeks pay attention to what feels uncomfortable or as if it is testing a part of your ethics and what you stand for.  This muse suggests that you may not need a totally re-haul of your principles but accepting the norm without question is not beneficial to your growth or your path.

Leo 

Death – As this birth year comes to a close the Muse of Compost arrives to help you wrap up the year. Reflect on what you have accomplished, what you need to finish up and what no longer is a priority in all aspects of your life.  She asks what needs to be reworked or composted to feed your next growth spurt? This exercise is important to do before your birthday.  Think of it like planning your garden for the coming year.  What worked, what didn’t, while still leaving fertile ground for new possibilities and unexpected seeds to grow.

Virgo 

Nine of Pentacles – The Muse of Success is your companion for the coming two-weeks.  She would like it if you made some space to enjoy the successes that have happened in the past nine months.  You have worked hard.  So, try to find some time to kick back and enjoy what you have built. PS. You may have to find the time by hiding out in your secret space and only inviting in your helpful companions.

Libra  

Three of Wands – The Muse of Staying Present comes when you are future tripping too much.  This muse usually shows up when aspects of your life are happening behind the scenes, or the timing is not right to make a move just yet. And you are feeling antsy and/or stuck. The key for ease in the coming weeks is to stay as present and focus only on what is right in front of you.

Scorpio

Six of Swords – The Muse of Transitions comes when you need to tweak and simplify what you are dealing with in the coming two weeks.  An aspect of your life is overloaded, and you need to trim it down to the essentials or rework it with a focus of “what route is the easiest.”

Sagittarius

Eight of Pentacles – The Muse of Mastery is your partner for the coming weeks.  She is here to remind you that you have all that you need for whatever you need to do.  Even if it feels impossible there is a workaround with the resources at hand.  Time to hone your savvy.

Capricorn

Five of Wands – The Muse of Chaos is your co-pilot for the coming weeks.   She comes when your world has the potential to spiral out of control.  The key to working with this energy is acknowledging the chaos and if you are going to engage, do prepare appropriately.  She also reminds you that you can walk right past this whirlwind of energy and not participate.  Not ever game dealt needs to be played.

Aquarius 

Fool – The Muse of Going with the Flow is your companion for the coming weeks.  She suggests a carefree attitude with a keen eye on each step you take.  This is a balance of laissez-faire and wit.  Yes, sometimes in life we need a leap of faith but not when you are aware of a pit of vipers below.

Pisces

Temperance – The Muse of Moderation is your partner for the coming weeks.  She comes when an aspect of your life needs to be remixed.  She challenges you to reflect on situations as if they were a recipe.  Though each ingredient may be important, they all don’t have the same proportions for a delicious outcome.   She reminds you that for some things in life “a little goes a long way.”
