The artist this week is Lisa Izquierdo @lisa_lili_izquierdo.  Izquierdo’s painting is textural and moody.  Moody in the sense that we can see her emotions as she paints.  She also focuses on the human form.  Her figures stretching and moving within the canvas.  Sometime these figures seem bound in the painting straining for release.  Others seem as we are getting a glimpse of a dance behind a curtain of color.  She builds these layers with mediums of paint, sand, and spectra gel to give the painting, texture and movement.  In her words: “… I paint from my heart and soul, and like life, sometimes it’s sad and dark.  I try to keep a semblance of light in the dark times, a speck of positivity which gets you through.”

Solar Systems Highlights

The Moon starts the week in Aries – think before rushing in.  Then on Tuesday it moves onto Taurus- slow and steady wins the race.  By Thursday through the weekend, it goes into Gemini – conversation and information are highlighted.  Mercury (communication and knowledge) is in Libra where interactions in relationships are highlighted.  However, Mercury and 6 other planets are in retrograde.  This happens every year, so it is not unusual.  It is great period for revising, reviewing, and reassessment, but if you must start something new or travel just prepare for upsets and a slowing down of the progression.

Venus (beauty and harmony) is in Virgo all this month a perfect time to tidy up your house and bring practical aesthetics into your life. Mars (action) is now in Gemini, where it will stay until March 25^th, 2023.  Yes, that is a 7 month stay instead of it’s usually 1-2.  Mars is pushing us to truthfully, talk our walk.  The challenge with this time is your politeness filter has been switched off.  So, it also has us working on how to be constructive with our voice – to promote action not reaction.  Jupiter is in Aries; it influences action and expansion until October 28^th.  And lastly, Saturn (structures) remains in Aquarius until the beginning of March 2023 – so innovating and modernizing your game is its focus.
